They had a Movement & Location lesson in their live math session this morning. Learning to navigate and use directional language (up/down, north/south, left/right) is such an important skill. It was a historic day in the United States today. President Biden’s moving speech came down to love. This sign to promote equality, made by one of our Grade 1 students, shares the same message. Love connects us all, no matter what country we live in or how old we are. All CGS students have been learning about the meaning of equality over the last few weeks with the run up to Martin Luther King Junior’s birthday on January 15. MLK Day has come and gone, but there is no end to the discussion. The Grade 1’s were given the task of creating their own posters to celebrate and promote equality. Posters were to include words, pictures and symbols they thought would be good to use. T’s piece makes a lovely use of his handprints. His description: ‘My sign has different colours on it because we can look different but we should all be treated equal.’ #keeptalking #MLK #equality
