A portrait of Brook in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Created during a workshop with Dave Brosha Photography and Wayne Simpson Photography
Since we’re in total lockdown I’m travelling through my archives instead. Here’s a shot from Lake Minnewanka. #covidlockdown #lakeminnewanka #travelphotography #canadiancreatives #alberta @travelalberta #shotoncanon #rockies #banffnationalpark #banff
Set goals! Crush them!
You may recognized my work here. I had the pleasure of photographing Michael’s album imagery. Now, stop staring at the photos and enjoy his craft. Give his album a listen and perhaps buy a CD! (Yes, CDs are still a thing!)
I shot this fern as part of a demonstration during my Algonquin Fall workshop last week. The exercise was to help the participants see light and contrast. This technique produced some pretty amazing and some expected results for the rest of the workshop. This workshop is part of the Canadian Wonders workshop series. #fern #blackandwhite #lowkey #algonquin #algonquinpark @canoncanada @ontarioparks

The kind and beautiful Leanna. I only had ten minutes this day to create a portrait of Leanna that spoke to me. I’m quite happy with how this turned out.
This will give you an idea what fall colours look like just driving down the highway in Algonquin Park.
That’s a wrap! Chanel and I head back home today after spending the week in Algonquin Park leading our fall photography workshop. We are incredibly grateful to these folks who entrusted us on their journey. Each of them came for their own reasons and we are so proud of the development that we saw in them over the course of four days. We are happy we got to know them all a little better and to call them our friends. ... And what a week we had for photography! We explored over a dozen locations, learned more about the park, worked on special camera techniques and how to see light, and created so many stunning images. Our workshop ended with the fall colours at their peak and they were just incredible. Mother Nature was really showing off! Chanel and I are exhausted now but leave with enormous smiles on our faces and new warmth in our hearts. We can’t wait to return to Algonquin. Registration for 2021 is now open and one ticket is already sold! Join us for a fully immersive photography experience. Also, a big thank you to our sponsors this year: Algonquin Outfitters The Mad Musher
Emily and Chris wanted a camping themed engagement shoot in Algonquin Park. I asked, How adventurous are you?
Chanel and I are out of the office for the next week. We have an elopement to shoot in Erieau today, an engagement session in Algonquin tomorrow and then our four-day Algonquin Photography Workshop the rest of the week. We will have cell service each day but limited time online so posts may be infrequent as we prioritize responding to client emails and messages first. ... See you all shortly!

I created this memory on a chilly September morning in 2013. It is still framed and hanging in my wall. As I get older and now have a family of my own, I recognize more and more just how important family portraits are. Every year I welcome a few new family clients to my roster and I have some families I see a couple times a year. It’s amazing to see the changes in the little ones year after year both as they grow physically and as they find their personalities. These are images that hand on walls, get out in scrape books and document families as they grow or shrink. Here’s a ...just one from a recent session with Daryl and Danielle's wonderful family. ** Limited family sessions available in October. Contact me directly to book. Daryl Odinson
I’ve seen a lot of large heathy herons on my drives as of late. I’m looking forward to photographing a few in Algonquin in about 8 days! #heron #greayblueheron #algonquin #algonquinpark #birdsofinstagram #birdphotography #birdwatching
