Public safety is an issue that hits very close to home for me. I know what it means to feel unsafe. I've lost close friends and family. I've stared down the barrel of a gun. These are some of the darkest moments in my life, and I would not wish them on my worst enemy. There is no misunderstanding the issues, or unfamiliarity, for me. I want Calgary to be safer, because I truly understand what the alternative is. The world, however, is not black and white, and there is no one-size-fix-all solution. Empty rhetoric, meant only to divide and diminish, makes our city more dangerous by pitting us against each other well before a meaningful conversation can take place. #yyc #publicsafety
HAPPY DIWALI AND BANDI CHHOR DIVAS PLEASE STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE #FlattenTheCurve in #Ward5 #yyc

This morning I attended the Remembrance Day service at the Military Museums, representing the City of Calgary. Master of Ceremonies, Retired Colonel Doug Stinson and the Reverend Lloyd Northcott hosted a dignified service in spite of pandemic restrictions and early morning snowfall. Thank you for providing both those in attendance, and those viewing the live-stream, with the opportunity to reflect and remember. ... #neverforget #RemembranceDay
