About 50 patients who have had a stroke or are learning to use a prosthetic leg will use the TV to practice their balance through a Wii Balance Board. The new TV will also provide patients a space t...o watch Netflix or TV during their stay because not all patients and families are able to afford a TV at bedside. "Our patients are here on average from two to 12 weeks," says Horizon Recreation Therapist Janet Crealock. "Typically 3NE sees approximately 250 patients a year. Thank you so much to Kyler and Andrea Munn for sharing the story of their baby Theodore during World Prematurity Day! Theodore was born at 25-weeks on Feb. 21, 2020, weighing two pounds, and measuring 13.5 inches. He spent 107 days in Horizon Health Network/Réseau de santé Horizon's Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and was finally discharged on June 5. ... At nine-months-old, six-months corrected age, Theodore is now 19 pounds, and 27 inches long. He is a vibrant, happy baby, bringing joy to everyone who meets him. Mom and dad are so proud of their miracle baby.

Children in the Pediatrics Unit of Horizon Health Network/Réseau de santé Horizon Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital got a surprise visit from Santa Claus this morning! Thanks to the 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown for putting this awesome visit together! With the use of the Base's fire truck, Santa was able to be lifted to the third floor of Pediatrics. The big guy then dropped off presents for children at the unit. The presents were made possible with the ...help of a recent Sobeys Food Drive where financial donations and food were also given. Food was passed along to the Oromocto Food Bank. Thanks so much to Santa and the Base for putting smiles on the faces of children, and hospital staff! Merry Christmas!
