Perseverance isn't a trait you have, it is a manifestation of your commitment.

You're a giver and you love helping others. This includes lending a compassionate ear to those around you who need it, but it doesn't mean that you should tolerate people who use you to vent their frustration all the time. As a general rule, someone who demands that level of attention more than once every week or two on a regular basis is abusing your good nature, though they can very well be doing so unintentionally. To start breaking the pattern, when you feel that it hasn'...t been long enough since you last listened to them vent, tell them that you are sorry but that you can't help at the moment, as you have other priorities which require your attention. If they don't seem to change their habit after a month or two, then it's time to sit down with them and explain that carrying other people's difficulties can be heavy at times, and that though you love to help, you also need to think of your own well-being.
