July 12th and we are finally back to racing at the ECK track. Would like to thank Gerald Caseley for giving us a time slot the day before the race to hold our annual Rookie school. Kelsey Hann once again put on an awesome school which included a class with theory and on track sessions, with some help from Ben Israel and Will Lowthers for the on-track sessions. The group was given lots of track time to work on what they were learning, with feedback from Kelsey after each session and a free practice session at the end just for some extra track time. The result was............ The next day these racers were well prepared, raced very well together had no major incidents and had alot of fun on race day, showing the value and importance of the school. Thanks again for making this event so successful!
Kart Flagging Clinic July 11th 10 - 11 am CKRA is looking to train flaggers to work races this summer for our club. This will be a paid position for aprox 2 1/2 hours per race day. CKRA is the home of the fastest kart racers and many National Champions in Eastern Canada. Be part of the excitement, best viewpoint at the track, and get to meet the racer themselves. Registration is now open for Race 1 Registration will now be completed via a Google Documents and the link can be found on the home page of CKRANB.com web site. Registration closes midnight Sunday the week before the race.... The 2020 CKRA Covid Plan can also be found on the CKRANB.com home page and you will need to read and understand this plan before the first race. Payment to be e transferred to Murray Teed before starting the registration process as you will be asked for the transfer confirmation code. Each team is allowed 1 driver and 1 pit crew member, if you have volunteer duties, or have extenuating circumstances your team will be allowed to apply on the form for this one extra person. Looking forward to seeing everyone back on the 12th for the first race of the season!
Racing starts soon!
Some good news heading into the weekend, With further restrictions being lifted in the province of NB and the size of the groups increased to 50, practice is now available for up to 5 teams. - Call ahead to ensure there is availability - Only the family members in your bubble are allowed in your team area... - Social distancing is still very much in effect and needs to be followed ** If your team does not follow the rules set out by the government (family bubble, social distancing) your team will be instructed to leave immediately, No questions asked. Do your part and let us all hope that this is the start of the season, and racing starts back up in July. Stay safe
