Beautiful day on campus!
This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW). The theme of this year’s Mental Illness Awareness Week is What People with Mental Illness Want You to Know.... For this event, NAMI NJ (National Alliance on Mental Illness) has been raising the voices of those with lived experience to talk about some of the conditions and symptoms that are most misunderstood to raise awareness and end the stigma associated to mental illness. Here are some of the testimonies you can find on their page, https://www.camimh.ca/faces-campaign/ We encourage you to educate yourself on the subject! If the meaning of stigma is the lack of understanding of the unknown, making it more aware we will lessen the fear people have of Mental Health Diseases. **If you are feeling stressed out, down, you are facing difficulties or feel the need to talk, remember that you do not have to face these challenges alone. By sharing your concerns with a professional, you may gain new perspectives and problem-solving skills. It’s okay to ask for help. You are important to us. Feel free to contact the different student services : https://www.crc-lennox.qc.ca/services/student-services-team/. Have a good day!
COVID-19: orange zone and 28-day challenge As you may already be aware, our region was just declared Orange. With this change, Champlain CollegeLennoxville acc...epted the invitation of the CIUSSS de l’EstrieCHUS to take on a 28-day challenge titled Break the COVID-19 wave. The CIUSSS de l’EstrieCHUS reminds us of five essential practices: Cough into your bent elbow Wash hands frequently Maintain a 2-meter distance from others Use a face covering, especially when the 2-meter distances cannot be maintained Limit travel In the coming 28 days, we will share messages on various online platforms in order to keep our community engaged and informed. We will also ask all to limit private gatherings. We are confident that you have already been adhering to these practices, but in joining this challenge we wish to continue to demonstrate solidarity, and encourage this approach to mitigate the spread of the virus. Wishing you all good health!
