HOLD ON TIGHT, diet culture is coming for us..... In the next days and weeks, you’ll start seeing a LOT of ads and posts promoting weight loss programs, detoxes and "New Year, New You" bullshit. This isn’t a sign that you should "make up" for the way you ate this Holiday season. ... This is simply the $72 BILLION DOLLAR diet & wellness industry that’s feeding off of YOUR INSECURITIES to make money. They know that people indulge and ENJOY FOOD (like we should!!!) during the Holidays, and they market SPECIFICALLY to target your insecurities, by saying that you "need to get back on track", that you need to lose the "COVID-19 pounds" or that you should do a detox starting January to "clean out" your system from all the "bad food" you ate. This is all bullshit (pardon my French). Even though diet & wellness culture tries HARD to make you believe that something’s wrong with you and that you need to "fix" yourself through restriction, this isn’t the answer. It’s the white, privileged men behind those big weight loss compagnies that are in the wrong. Not you. Also, if ever you wonder, "well, this isn’t advertised as a diet, so it must not be, right?", let me give you some examples of diets: 1) anything that promotes weight loss as a result is a diet. Period. 2) Psychology-based programs such as Noom- even though it sounds fancy- is still a diet. 3) Herbal detoxes, juice cleanses, Whole30, Paleo, Veganism or any way of eating that requires restriction or elimination of certain food groups, is a diet. 4) Going gluten free, dairy free, soy free (etc) when you don’t have physical food allergies / intolerances, still falls under wellness dieting. I could go on and on, but this is just all to say: you were never broken. You don’t need a detox/cleanse or jumping on a #NoSugarChallenge in the new year. That’s not where it’s at. Intuitive Eating, listening to YOUR OWN BODY’S WISDOM to feed yourself, is where it’s at. If you’re ready to ditch the diets and find your healthiest self without restriction, drop an I’m ready! in the comments or send me a DM. I’d love to talk how we can work together and stop the food and health obsession for good.

Hi Chanelle here! Just wanted to pop by and say that no matter what you ate this past weekend or what you’ll be eating this week during Christmas / Holidays, you DO NOT NEED TO EARN YOUR FOOD and you certainly don’t need to jump on a cleanse, burn it off with excessive exercise or try another diet at the start of the new year. I know it might be tempting to "save up your calories / macros" or to skip meals altogether to "make up for the binge you’ll have later durin...g gatherings". I know you might feel like you’ve been "overboard/unhealthy" over the weekend (drinking, lots of desserts, food, etc) and feel like you need to make up for it today or this week... BUT YOU DON’T. Your body NEEDS food to thrive and to use it as fuel for your simple day to day bodily functions. Restricting will only make you feel more out of control around it. Enjoy your time with loved ones, be present and eat mindfully (take time to really take in the flavors / textures of the food you eat). You’ll be just fine and these upcoming meals won’t be the end all be all of your health. I promise (from someone who studied in this stuff). I wish you all wonderful Holidays, and in case if you need extra help or support (if this time of year is difficult / challenging your relationship with food / body), then reach out and let’s chat. :) I’ll be opening another round of intuitive eating coaching in the new year, so also keep an eye out for all the juicy details coming shortly your way!! For anyone that has a hard time around food at gatherings, check out one of my last post about dealing with food anxiety at gatherings! I’m sure it‘il give you great insight and will be very helpful. 5 TIPS TO DEAL WITH FOOD ANXIETY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON : Although the Holidays can be a really exciting time, I know how stressful it can also be when you struggle with food... I used to be that person who brought food with me to Holiday gatherings because I was afraid that the food being served wasn’t "healthy enough". ... I would eat my vegan stir fry while everyone else was enjoying their Turkey dinner, but yet the minute someone wasn’t looking, I was binging on mini cheesecakes and slices of pie in the bathroom. I felt ashamed, guilty and like a failure. Thankfully, I learned to make peace with food throughout the years, and now I can enjoy time spent with family, without worrying/obsessing about food or my body. I want the same for you! So here’s a little guide of 5 tips you can take with you this Holiday season, to help you stop the food anxiety and enjoy your precious time with loved ones, without worrying about binging or needing to start clean the next morning: 1. Don’t skip meals or save up your food for the gathering. Saving your "hunger" for the big "feast" puts your body into "starvation mode", which will only make you feel even more out of control around food once you get there. 2. Remind yourself that you get to have (Holiday) food anytime you desire. It’s not a one time thing. Removing the Holiday food (either that be desserts, alcohol, gravy and all the goods) from it’s pedestal will lessen the excitement around it and you’ll feel more in control around it. Remember, anything that we tell ourselves we can’t have or shouldn't have will only make us want it even more. 3. If you start feeling overwhelmed, step aside and take deep breathes. Remind yourself that you are safe. 4. When eating, take time to sit down, and eat MINDFULLY (slow down). EXPERIENCE the food you have in front of you. What’s the taste like? Texture? Flavors? Eat slowly and enjoy every bites. Practicing mindful eating will help you to reduce the chances of overeating. 5. Have compassion for yourself. You are worthy. You are loved. You are doing the best you can. One (or several meals) also won’t ruin your health. #IntuitiveEating #BingeEating

FOOD ISN’T JUST FOR NOURISHMENT & HEALTH. If you’ve seen part of my IG stories in the last 24 hours, I showed you guys another part of me and my second baby (business): @farmtotablenb. Even though some things will change in the new year when it comes to my approach with cooking classes and live events, there’s this one aspect that I feel is still relevant for both my intuitive eating practice and my cooking classes. FOOD IS MORE THAN JUST NOURISHMENT. Food is (and was alwa...ys meant initially) to BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER, to connect, and to foster traditions. This becomes ESPECIALLY true with the upcoming Holiday season. If the Holiday season is a tough one for you because you feel like the Holidays is just a way for you to "fall off track" with your health and wellness goals, remember that food is MORE than just nourishing your body and chasing health. Food is there to BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER. Food is both PLEASURE and CONNECTION. If you find yourself already planning how you’ll "save up" for your meals this Holiday season, just think of it this way: How much better would it be to spend time with family and friends if food and your body wasn’t consuming your every thoughts before, during and after the meals? How would your life be without food obsession or body obsession? What would change and what would be different if you would just let yourself enjoy the food and be in the present moment with loved ones? Something to think on. Because it’s possible to live a life where you don’t stress about food and your body 24/7. And I mean, life is just much more fun without all that added stress, don’t you think? #IntuitiveEating #BodyImageCoach #IntuitiveEatingCoach #Nourishment #HolidaySeason #Community

INTRODUCTION Hi guys!! Since I’ve gained a few new followers since doing the switch to intuitive eating on this account, I figured why not start Monday with a little fun introduction from ya girl, shall we? ... My name is Chanelle Belliveau (she/her), and I currently call Moncton, New-Brunswick home! I grew up in a small rural village called Cap-Pelé and always have (and always will) have a soft spot for the country. I speak both French and English, although my French is way more Chiac than it is French (if you know, you know), but I’m dang proud of it. I’m a serial entrepreneur! I currently have 3 businesses under my belt this one (intuitive eating) + you can check out my other offerings here: @nourish_by_chanelle | @farmtotablenb. I’m deeply passionate about making the connection from where our food comes from and how it got to the table (harvest- cooking- eating), and I have a mission of helping over a 1000 women heal their relationship to food and body, just like I did with mine. Now a few fun facts about me: I love ducks (love is an understatement). I always dreamed of having my own little homestead / farm and have like 25 ducks, 5 goats, 2 pigs, 15 chickens, 1 alpaca, and 3 cows. Yep, I’m that lady haha. I LOVE learning. I have a background in holistic nutrition, a certification as a Culinary Nutrition Expert (@culinarynutrition), and I’m now a Intuitive Eating & Body Image Coach. I also worked in several health food stores + worked on an organic farm, so it’s quite clear that anything that has to do with food, I’ve been there. Both my music and coffee choices changes with my mood! I rarely order the same coffee twice in a row and my music preferences changes with the seasons. I’m that plant mom . Some people go out for groceries and come home with puppies, I go out for groceries and come home with more plants. Now I’d like to hear from you!! Drop your name + a fun fact about you in the comments!! :) I’d love to see where my community is nested and what makes you, you. :) #IntuitiveEatingCoach #BodyImageCoach #NewBeginnings
