We will continue to do our best as martial artists to set an example of perseverance and hope. Master Kim coached Master C when she competed for Canadian National Team twice for 2010 Panam Championship and 2011 Panam Games Qualifiers. He’s a hard and honest critic with so much humour. He wouldn’t give fake praises but tell you when you are working too hard, thinking too much to enjoy your game. And if you can’t, he showed you how with his funny jokes

Teaching my beginner class how to tie their uniform !! They are so adorable and smart personally I get so annoyed seeing students run around with their belts swinging behind them or wrapping it like a scarf at a competition. I think it is very important to teach manners and respect before anything else. Good job all of you . #happy #tuesday #love #mystudents #tkd #tkdlife #tkdkids #kidsinsport #daily #tkdfamily #like

Immediate Update : We are Closed November 16th - 27th . Attention Chan Lee Taekwondo members, This is an immediate update and reminder that we will close as of today November 16th, 2020 for next 2 weeks and suspend both in-person & online classes. The guidelines and interpretation of this 2 week shutdown have been a struggle for both our Provincial Sport Organization and Alberta Health Services. So, rather than struggling to hear definite answers our club will act responsibl...y and close the next 2 weeks in hopes to help the cases rising in Alberta. . Master Cecilia will soon send out detail update and information by email and on our website We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience. We hope all our members and students stay safe thank you #teamchanlee See more

Attention Chan Lee Taekwondo members, WE WILL REMAIN OPEN! An announcement was made yesterday that indoor fitness clubs/ team sport activities were to close for next two weeks. However, throughout today, martial art clubs in Alberta specializing in Taekwondo have come together with our provincial sports organization (PSO) to be evaluated as an individual sport. This means Taekwondo is recognized as a safe sport as long as each member continues to follow our protocols.... Our dojang will operate meanwhile under Alberta Health guideline of Part 1, 4 - section (b) an individual sport activity where participants can maintain a minimum of 2 metres distances from each other at all times; This will mean that we will continue our social distance practice and holding hand targets will be limited to instructors and black belt leaders only. Once again, we thank you for your support and patience. Please be safe and don’t give up! We have been a hard working community to make all measurements of safety and we’ve all worked together to mandate good practices of mask wearing, temperature check, washing hands, limiting visitors, and waiting outside. Thank you all very much for all the small works you do in keeping our dojang safe as a whole. Students testing November will be notified soon separately as well to re-scheduled time and date. Please visit our website for clear documentation: www.chanleetkd.com Sincerely, Grandmaster Chanwoo Lee Master Cecilia Lee

Despite of our efforts and strong precautions, It is a very unfortunate news to announce that starting tomorrow November 13th, Friday our dojang will be closed for 2 weeks. We plan to resume classes again on November 30th, Monday. Grandmaster Lee & Master Cecilia are in the process of making the decision for online classes as well as re-scheduling the belt testing planned on November 14th & 21st to online. Please be patient and we will update everyone by email, updates on we...bsite www.chanleetkd.com, Facebook, and instagram of our procedures. Thank you everyone and please stay safe and do not give up!! . . . Today, Premier announced temporary mandatory & voluntary measures in effect from Nov. 13-27 to help limit transmission, reduce spread & keep people, communities & our health system safe. If you live in an area with enhanced measures, we need you to take action immediately. We are temporarily stopping group fitness classes, team sports & performances in Edmonton, Calgary & their surrounding areas, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie & Red Deer. This does not include outdoor or individual sports/exercise, training or equipment use. Gyms are not required to close. It also does not apply to junior, university or professional sports. Group performances, such as singing, dancing and theatre must cease. This does not apply to professional venues as they have public health measures in place to limit exposure. All restaurants, bars, lounges & pubs under enhanced status (50+ active cases/100K) must stop liquor sales by 10pm & close by 11pm until Nov. 27. Similar restrictions are in place in BC, SK, MB, ON & QC. Beginning Nov. 13, there is a 50 person limit on wedding & funeral ceremonies in enhanced status areas. We recognize the challenge to these limits but have seen large outbreaks linked to these events. We ask faith-based organizations to limit attendance to 1/3 capacity/service. We are also asking employers in areas under enhanced status to reduce the number of staff in office buildings at any one time wherever possible. This may include rotating schedules or enabling staff to work remotely. We need all Albertans to do their part. We strongly recommend Albertans living in enhanced status areas do not have social gatherings at home. Please limit social interactions with friends, extended family & others outside your household do not have anyone who doesn’t live with you over for non-essential visits. If you can meet friends or family via Skype or Zoom, please start today. Now is the time to reduce the the number of cohorts we are in & make it less likely we’ll be exposed to COVID or pass it on to others. We are in this together & must face this challenge together. Many Canadian soldiers fought during Korean War but we know so little about them. This war, like all others, was a terrible event which took such a heavy toll of human #lives both civilian and #military. Cities and homes and industry were destroyed and the daily lives of people forever changed The war in Korea became the forgotten war. It lay quietly in the dark shadows cast by the First and Second World Wars but with the passing of time, it has gradually moved a little ...closer to the forefront In post-war years, the people of the Republic of #Korea worked hard to not just rebuild their cities and repair everything that was destroyed, but have far surpassed anything that could ever have been imagined. The war scorched the land and its people, and through tireless work and sacrifice, Korea became a modern, prosperous place that is almost unequalled The foundation of the unimagined growth and success of Korea was the result of the #United Nations contingent who #fought for the restoration of #peace and #freedom. Some soldiers who were among the fighting force are those who are interred in the #Busan Cemetery and the Yokohama War Cemetery in Japan. There are also others who died and were buried elsewhere and these few men could be called Canada’s last #forgotten #soldiers of the Korean War Their #story is heartbreaking not just because of their death but even more so because some of our Korean War dead can be found close to us and yet they suffer the fate of being forgotten I wonder if one day someone will stand at the Burnaby Korean War monument and turn and face their graves at Mountainview Cemetery or maybe one day someone might visit them and say thank you and place a #poppy where they lay. #soliders #veterans #canada #thankyou #lestweforget # https://www.burnabynow.com//opinion-honour-our-forgotten-k
