Please tell me I’m not the only one who can’t meditate. My husband Chris is a master meditator. Every morning at 5:15 AM he wakes up and the first thing he do...es is meditate for 25 minutes. He hasn’t skipped a morning in over 4 years. I used to make myself wrong because everybody and their mother is recommending that you have a meditation practice. When I discovered that there are more ways to meditate than just sitting still with your eyes closed, it was a game changer for me. I practice moving meditation. I use these 4 grounding techniques to pull myself and my mind back into the present moment throughout the day. One of my favorite strategies is spiritual grounding. I carry a heart shaped rock with me and it makes me feel connected to something larger. Whenever I go for walks in the woods, I’ll look for heart shaped objects like leaves, stones, or puddles, as a way to focus my mind on the present moment.
