2020 Ornaments! Here’s my work in progress... 5 mini replicas in total, representing the ‘Hometown Sunsets’ collection I painted in 2020... to remember some of the BEAUTY of this year.
After MONTHS of working on creating a version of Original Prints I want to market for sale, this is it!!! Murray Lake#001. Complete with a Gallery-style solid wood frame, also by Chantal Roy Original Designs... This collection is not about marketing artwork to compare or compete with Walmart and Home Sense... for those who’ve followed my progress, there is so much time and meaning put into every piece I create, like all Makerswho put their hearts and gifted talents int...o making a quality Local craft. From every countless yet calculated application of colour with my palette knife... to the hours spent with my dad, Roma Roy, in his workshop building the frames (while he watches and listens to me sing to the classics and talk endlessly -because he’s the most amazing and last of his kind)... With the goal of achieving a product that buyers or collectors understand is very personal and unique... from a Local artist, of what may seem like ordinary Local areas... but that mean so much to someone or to all that can relate to it on some sentimental level Was PRE-SOLD!!! $220-
This is my latest project... dad let me take over his workshop to build some frames for my prints. He usually has a fire going when I get here, but way too nice out for that today!OH!!! And We have the country oldies playing cuz I finally remembered my Bluetooth speaker, so it’s truly a PERFECT day
Finished last week.. palette knife, 24x16 oil on wood panel. I stood on my brother-in-law’s roof to take this photo!!! The sunset and clouds were unbelievable and so worth it... another one for my Sunsets collection
I was asked to do a portrait... and was reluctant to accept because portraits are ‘not my thing’. But then I was given full creative freedom by a special lady who has so much confidence in my abilities... so here it is... it’s my favourite to date... so excited to share...
