Chaperal Residents' Association 18.11.2020

A little something to look forward to In cooperation with the city of Ottawa, the Chaperal Residents Association has agreed to manage the two ice rinks at the Ouellette park for the 2020-2021 season. Children and adults will be able to enjoy skating this winter. We imagine some new rules will have to be followed but we will strive to make it a pleasurable experience. The Residents Association is still in operation be it in a greatly reduce manner. If you would like to partici...pate (looking for something to do), please reach out to us, all are welcome. Maybe you want to learn how to make an ice rink, grunt. Dan

Anyone lose a large head harness for dogs on the path under the hydro lines?

A much simpler infographic on updated park regulations and restrictions in place by the city. Please keep these in mind everyone! Note: out of curiosity’s sake I visited the park during my dog walks to see if these rules were being followed, and at least three of the Do Nots were clearly not being followed. Teens and young adults from different households playing sports together (in groups large enough to ensure transmission of Covid if one of them was a carrier because of th...e physical contact being had and sharing of sports equipment, and young kids on the play structures that aren’t cleared for use. Nobody is there to sanitize surfaces, seats, or prevent each other from coughing/sneezing on or around each other. Nobody is there to tell you who or what came into contact with your loved ones if they are the unfortunate ones to develop symtpoms after coming into contact with someone from the community who is, and trying to figure out if the rest of your family is at risk. All of these things are now our responsibility as neighbours, parents, and friends to each other. Each and everyone of us. This isn’t meant to be a rant on how people need to live their life, or as a catalyst to cause conflict with each other. Consider this as an ask from your own neighbours, which I continue to hear over the last two months. Lets do what we can to help each other. Keep yourself safe. Keep us safe. Let’s be safe together, and celebrate when the time is right. President, Chaperal Residents Association Dave Haughton

Personal post My wife is making face masks for family members, (not for sale). But she is having difficulty sourcing sewing elastic. If you have some you would like to contribute please let me know. Dan, (the rink guy)

As you may have heard, restrictions on use of green spaces in Ottawa have been somewhat relaxed. This doesnt include use of play structures and contact surfaces, such as the benches and tables in the park. Please view this as it will provide more information:... https://www.google.ca//local/ottawa/2020/5/6/1_4927688.html

Good morning all. Just putting out a heads up brought forward by a community member. An unknown individual in the area of Brian Coburn very late last night, wearing a black hoodie and lighter coloured jogging pants was observed to approach a home, and what appears to try looking through a window, before moving on again. Police were notified and responded. Although difficult to tell what the individual was doing, safety is still the best precaution/prevention.... If you have any interest in starting a Neighbourhood watch in our area, feel free to identify your interests to our association. We are still looking for active members who would like to play a role in this way. David Haughton President Chaperal Residents Association
