When I was in Graphic Design school, we had to create a board on Pinterest for our moodboarding research at the start of each design project. It was helpful to pull in all sorts of other designs that had a similar look and feel to what we were going for, and it helped us to stay on track with what our design goal was. Doing your research is so important. As the client, providing imagery is helpful for communicating your expectations for the project to the designer. I always a...sk for clients to provide me with at least 3 examples of the style or look they're going for. As the designer, it's helpful to have your research done so you can make sure you're going in the right direction with your design and answer questions/solve problems that may come up for the client along the way. Don't reinvent the wheel every time. Don't skip the most important step in the design process. Know your "why". Take the time to figure out what questions you're answering or what problem you're solving with your design. Especially when it comes to Social Media. Have a purpose when you're posting, whether it's to share some encouragement, teach something new, or remind people why your business is so great. How many fonts is too many? Always remember, less is more! Stick to 2 or 3 fonts per design. Have fun mixing and matching, but make sure they still work together (more on that later). .
