Merry Christmas!
Wonderful read!
For anyone looking for a physician in the Clarenville area!
Love this....anger is often a manufactured emotion to help us cope with other emotions.
Very happy to post that with the change to Alert Level 3 , the clinic is now open for in-person appointments. Following Public Health guidelines: 1. Appointments will be spaced so that the clinic can be cleaned throughly between appointments. 2. Clients will be screened prior to entering the clinic for COVID-19 symptoms, travel within the last 14 days or being in close contact with individuals with, or suspected as having, COVID-19.... 3. Clients will have option of telepsychology throughout the pandemic if they so desire. 4. Use of face masks are recommended but with the understanding that this will be under the discretion of the client. It has been a very challenging time for all but remember we are still navigating through this, learning new ways of doing things but doing so together! See you soon! Charlene
With all that is happening, it is ok not to be ok. Anxiety, depressed mood, irritability, restlessness, lack of motivation/interest and sleep disturbances are common symptoms that many may experience. Children may start to exhibit behavioural and emotional changes as well. Please connect with friends and family and remember that professional support will never be restricted. Telephone and video sessions are available in the interim.
This will pass!
The health crisis related to COVID-19 is a challenging time and no doubt has become a stressful time for many individuals. To ensure the safe, continuation of services throughout this crisis, Hann Psychological Services is following guidelines set forth by Health Canada, the provincial government and the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board. Clients coming into the office may only do so if they:... 1. Are not showing any signs of flu-like symptoms (cough, fever, diffculty breathing) or been in contact with someone displaying flu-like symptoms. 2. Have not travelled in the last 14 days outside the country. To ensure safe practices, cancellation fees will be removed. As before, appointments will be scheduled with 30 minute to 1 hour delays and the office will be cleaned between appointments. To support clients who are not able to come into the office, the option of telepsychological services will be provided moving forward. No one during this time should feel alone or not supported. Together, we will make this work. Let’s help ensure a healthy, safe and supported community. Charlene
Right now the world is frightened and in panic mode.....taking more steps to protect your mental health is necessary.
Some info for people on dealing with anxiety during this time. We all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe and healthy but we don’t need to be fearful!

Tomorrow is Bell Let’s Talk Day! Take the time to talk, take the time to listen.....we all have a story to share! Bell will donate 5 cents for every call/text/post/share tomorrow, January 30th to mental health initiatives in Canada. Hann Psychological Services will be donating to the Newfoundland Chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association. For every new page like we will increase our donation to help support mental health programs in our province! Let’s Talk!
A common question is why anxiety in children appears to be on the rise? Here is just one reason.....expectations that we have for children are often not developmentally appropriate....just look at what a child in 1954 is expected to achieve in Kindergarten and compare that today’s expectations for Kindergarten!
Lovely article!
Thought this was a beautiful representation for resilience - thriving in the face of adversity! Humans have this ability as well!
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas! Remember that it’s not what’s under the tree that counts, it is what is in our hearts! Take some time during this festive season to reach out to ones that are having a difficult time as you might end up being their guiding star!
