PLEASE HELP!! Our Loons need a voice right now... A new breed of boater has hit the lake and they are unknowingly killing baby Loons. "Wakeboarders" In spring and early summer loons nest on the shoreline at water level. These boats cause such a large wake it's like a tsunami for the Loons and unfortunately not many survive. A family I was watching was wiped out in Tallow Rock Bay last spring. One boat, one pass, people laughing on board just having fun... Plea...se share in hopes of reaching those wakeboarders. My message to the wakeboarders is this,...can you please hold off a bit or if you just can't wait, stay in the middle of big waters, or in the smaller bays take a slow drive by the shoreline first before you terrorize the area. You can spot the parents easely, usually within 20 feet or their nest trying to protect their kids. See more
