Charlotte’s Freedom Farm 21.06.2021

Update: a couple awesome volunteers stopped by today and with the help of the marina staff they were able to catch Gary. He is safe at the farm Goodmorning everyone!! Thanks to a wonderful dedicated group of volunteers, these 2 bunnies that were dumped in Comber are now safe. ... Unfortunately, the need for help is never ending! Gary the goose was dumped in Leamington and he is limping pretty badly! Gary is a domestic goose so we are planning on catching him and bringing him back to the farm to be treated and then to stay and live happily WE ARE LOOKING FOR HELP on Sunday afternoon at 3pm. We ultimately need bodies but if you have a kayak or net that’s a bonus! DM us if you can help - he’s barely using one of his legs now and needs treatment ASAP!! Gary is friendly with the staff and always around so we are confident with enough help we will be able to catch him!

Update on the dumped domestic rabbits in Tilbury: We caught the injured rabbit and the tan rabbit first. After walking around the block we found another 6 domestic rabbits... and then we discovered the source of all the domestic rabbits wandering the neighbourhood In total we caught 3 but saw at least 12 loose - and about another 20 or more being bred in the backyard of a home. The pens and yard are easily escapable for the rabbits, hence all them being everywhere. We will be reporting the situation today. We spoke to our rabbit vet Dr Emily last night about the injured rabbit and he was dropped off to see her this morning. Keep him in your thoughts today please . We have volunteers heading back this week, if you are able to help catch the loose bunnies - please send us a DM.

There are 3 domestic bunnies that have been dumped in Tilbury. One is injured. Domestic rabbits do not survive well on their own outdoors - this is happening more and more often. We will be going to catch and help these 3 rabbits tomorrow (Sunday) evening at 7pm. If you are able to come help, please send us a DM.

We were alerted about this poor goose with a broken wing by the Riverside yacht club. We successfully caught him and transferred him to Erie Wildlife - from there he will be going to live Jack Minors as his wing has been broken for a while and he cannot migrate. Thanks to everyone involved!
