A couple of pies this weekend. Banana Cream and Fresh Fruit and custard topped with whipped cream. All made from scratch. Need to brush up on my pastry skills for a better presentation but I am told they were delicious and that is the most important part!

So I have been very lucky to have spent some time with our amazing talented niece, Jorja, over the past few weeks. She was interested in baking/decorating and I was asked if I would mind teaching her. Never once is my life have I ever felt I possessed a skill that anyone would want me teaching. Jack of all trades, Master of none kind of thing. I still don't know if I do but I do know that I have enjoyed our time together very much. I am by no means a professional nor an expert but Lord knows I have made a ton of mistakes and have learned from each and every one. Sometimes knowing what NOT to do is more valuable than prior knowledge. This week Jorja decorated our Grandson's 4th birthday cake. She did an amazing job, everyone loved it.

Congratulations Shayna! This is a 4 tier, 11 layer cake with alternatin chocolate and vanilla. All of the flower petals are hand made as were the medallions on top. This color combination with the silver is definitely one of my favorites.

When it rains it really does pour. I have been so distracted lately that I had forgotten to take pictures for my page. Thank you to Heather for posting the Halloween cupcakes, I also did 2 Halloween cookie kits, thank you Crystal for ordering. They were fun! Yesterday these little kitties left for a 20th Birthday Celebration! We also did a big #1 Wiggles cake but that won't be posted at this time. Fir now enjoy some Pineapple Cake Puddy Tats

This is quite true for any small business makers. I have over 10 grand in equipment and necessary stock and there are many many things I do not have. I do try to keep my costs reasonable, one reason why I do not do fondant. The cost of the tools, presses, mats, cricuts are exorbitant at best. That cost in turn would be passed on to you. We all must support small business as often as we can, it really is the heart of our economy and keeps food on the tables in our communities.
