Today is #Human #Trafficking #Awareness day. Canadian young people are extremely vulnerable to becoming victims of trafficking, averaging 13-21 in age. Stay informed about your child's social and school life. Talk to your child about inappropriate requests from people they do not know. Make the effort to know the people/friends involved with your child (not just their nicknames).... Monitor their social media accounts and set rules for their online activity. Stay current with apps and social sites your child is using. Educate your child on healthy social and romantic relationships and how to identify abusive ones. You may become or already be a victim of human trafficking if you answer yes to any of these questions: Is anyone controlling your freedom of movement? Is someone denying you access to your passport or travel documents? Is anyone telling you to perform sex acts? Is anyone forcing you to work for no or very little money? Are you forced to work long hours without proper breaks? If you or someone you know answers yes to any of these questions, contact our non-emergency line or Peel Crime Stoppers or the Human Trafficking Hotline 1833-900-1010 #endhumantrafficking

As of today, January 14, 2021 at 12:01 am, the Government of Ontario issued a stay-at-home order requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for exercise or for essential work. #stayhome #citybrampton #COVID19 #essentialservicesonly

J-SECTION PARK!! Jan 19 virtual meeting! We want to hear from you. Register @citybrampton. Jefferson, Jordan, and Jayfield (JJJ) Parks are three adjacent parks with a concrete channel flowing through them. The parks have a west-east linear orientation and are connected to each other by the Don Doan Trail. Toronto & Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) identified the concrete channel within these parks as a priority project as part of its Peel Channel Remediation program. Th...e TRCA has been removing the concrete lining within the channel to re-naturalize the creek and its banks to improve water quality, fish and wildlife habitat, and reduce maintenance costs. These changes have sparked concerns because of the removal of some of the loved trees. Join the meeting to learn more about the project and what to expect in the upcoming year. @trca_restore See more

It’s the end of day 2 of getting back into homeschooling routines with my 5 kids and like many of you, I am feeling the stress of it all. When I worked in Mental Health services laughter was a great way to beat the stress and cut the tension. I want to know what makes you laugh? Memes? Jokes? I want to hear them! @scarymommy has the best #memes. Thanks for the laughs! @citybrampton #covid_19 #homeschool #wewillgetthroughthis

In 2015, the @CityBrampton completed a Transportation Master Plan Update that recommended the widening of Bramalea Road from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. The EA study is assessing potential improvements along the study corridor to accommodate current and future transportation needs of pedestrians, cyclists, transit and motorists. You are invited to participate in the Online Public Information Centre from January 11 February 28th, to learn about the project findings to date, and to provide your input. To participate, please go to www.brampton.ca/BramaleaEA. #brampton
