Meet Mary - one of our #ChartwellsHeroes from Sudbury, Ontario! Mary has recently retired! She has been an integral part of Chartwells, Compass Group Canada for the last 33 years. She began her career as a unit manager in 1987 and was promoted to Operations Manager in 1997. She was quickly promoted again to District Manager due to her expertise, dedication and hard work. Mary’s contributions to our business will long be remembered, valued and admired throughout our organization. Although she will be greatly missed, we wish her success, happiness and health in this new and exciting chapter of her life! Congratulations Mary!!

#OrangeShirtDay is held on September 30th each year to carry forward the conversation and raise awareness of Canada’s Residential Schools. It is a time for meaningful discussions about Reconciliation and the effects Residential Schools had on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. It is also a day to reaffirm survivors, their families, and those who have been affected that they matter and that #EVERYCHILDMATTERS.

This year’s theme for the @United Nations International Youth Day is Youth Engagement for Global Action, which seeks to highlight the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels, and how they are enriching national and international institutions and processes. Every day we are privileged to serve so many inspiring youths in Canada at K-12, Private Schools, and Higher Education institutions. Today and every day, we celebrate and acknowledge young people’s voices, leadership, meaningful engagement, and commitment to enriching their communities! #31DaysofYOUth #ChartwellsTAGB #ThinkingAheadGivingBack

Congratulations to @Sheridan College and Sheridan College President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Janet Morrison for hosting two successful and trailblazing virtual events, bringing students together and building community while we continue physical distancing. It was a pleasure and honour to cater these Virtual Dinners and support students in residence. Our Director of Culinary Donna Tobias prepared a delicious meal that was delivered to each student and the President by Fadi Zuri...ekat, Mohamedshahid Shaikh and Feras Alsmadi, so that they could break bread together and stay socialeven at a distance. Thank you for the opportunity Tracey Eng! We hope that you all had a great time sharing a meal at a distance and look forward to our next opportunity to support community connection, as we know food connects us all. #virtualevents #socialdistancing #community #mentalhealth #WellnessWednesday #ChartwellsTAGB #ThinkingAheadGivingBack See more

Your #FeelGoodFriday story today features one of our #ChartwellsHeroes, Amanda Saville, for her inspiring perseverance and dedication to giving back to her community. In the first two weeks of the COVID-19 impact, Amanda transported approximately 3,500lbs of food from our units to local charities in her community of Barrie, ON. to help with feeding those in need. Amanda has been with Chartwells since 2019, and since her first days with us has continued to bring eagerness, ded...ication, and adaptability with all that she does. She has recently been supporting our Health Care sector while we prepare for returning to our K-12 sector. Thank you for your leadership Amanda! #thinkingaheadgivingback #chartwellstagb #covid19

It’s #FeelGoodFriday, and we are honoured to showcase one of our #ChartwellsHeroes from the East Coast, Angela. Angela has been part of the Chartwells team for 18 years, and her favourite part of working with Chartwells is the sense of community she contributes to. Angela’s told us, I love being able to have the freedom to support local here in Charlottetown, PEI and do good things for our community. which we think Angela is a perfect example of doing good! Angela has been ...going above and beyond to take care of her team, hosting special dinners for students in residence, and purchasing locally to support the community. It is people like Angela that make this team great, we are so grateful to have such a kindhearted and compassionate person to help care for our campus community! Thank you for your #leadership Angela! #thinkingaheadgivingback #chartwellstagb #covid19
