Mondays are a great way to start off the week! We're often told to "get our heads out of the clouds" but today, I encourage you to keep your head in the clouds: Look for the positive, find ways to exercise your creativity, and connect with people in your life. Let's make this a great week!
Friday, November 20th is recognized as International Children's Day. Did you know that in Chatham Kent, we have a "Children's Charter of Rights"? Check out this video and meet out future leaders! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HalvYfp761s
Have you heard of the FRESHER (Food Retail Environment Study for Health and Economic Resiliency) project? They are conducting a survey of employees, managers, and owners in the food retail sector to determine how the pandemic has impacted them. Learn more on their website (and find the survey link) https://fresher.theheal.ca/
As a reminder, the unemployment data that we provide monthly relies on information pulled from Employment Insurance and the Labour Force Survey. Due to the challenges presented with COVID-19, this information is not available to us at the Chatham-Kent level. Therefore, the information we are presenting relates to our economic region, which includes Sarnia-Lambton, Windsor Essex, and Chatham-Kent. We are unsure when the Chatham-Kent specific information will again be available to us. In the interim, we will be reporting on our region’s data. Windsor-Sarnia's unemployment numbers were down 0.1% in October 2020.
What's for Dinner? The calendar says that today is "International Take Out Day". If you can, give your poor, overworked stove a well deserved break, and support one of our many fantastic local restaurants!
Today is recognized as "World Kindness" day. Celebrate it in your own way. "Because that is what kindness is. It's not doing something for someone else because they can't, but because you can," Andrew Iskander
