Gift Card Fundraising Program (T.R.I.P.): With the current lockdown, we will not be open on Thursdays to come in and purchase gift cards. We will review weekly... based on the current status and what is allowed. We have a number of other options. Please email your order to [email protected] or text 519-359-3605 We will correspond with you to arrange for curbside pickup or delivery, etc Please continue to use gift cards for your everyday purchases. We have a few logistical hurdles currently but nothing that we can’t jump. The orders that would have gone home with students this week on Thursday, we are in the process of delivering them throughout this week or we will be in contact to work out arrangements. We look forward to processing your gift card orders. Happy New year and have a wonderful week.

Remember those last fun days at school just before the break?! We do too, and while the return to school next week looks very different, we continue to trust our God who remains faithful. As we enter 2021, it is our hope that we will all remain strong and courageous knowing God’s presence remains with us no matter our circumstances. May our entire CCS community experience a blessed New Year! #throwbackthursday #strongandcourageous

Go tell it on the mountain, hope is alive! Go shout it in the valley, love has arrived! Gloria, glory in the highest. Oh, let the church choir sing out in Christmas praise. Let the bells ring out on the Saviour's day!... May our entire CCS community feel the hope, joy, peace and love that comes from the birth of our Saviour. Merry Christmas!

Like so many other things this year, our middle school FlexBlock has had to adapt to change; so we have! For the last month, and within their class cohorts, students have been immersed in a variety of learning experiences: coding, hiking, sign language, robotics and fire making. It might look different but it’s still vibrant and dynamic!

Over the last week, the whole school had been involved in different projects for community event, THE GIFT. The elementary students decorated over 230 paper bags with words of encouragement and happy pictures for the Food Bank to use in distributing food. The high school painted over 300 signs to be on display through out CK to remind everyone to place food and/or toys on their front porch for the Nov 21 drive. Also, Student Council and the Kindness Club helped advertise thr...ough out the school about the events and that families could bring their food/toys to the school as well. It was a ripple effect felt through out the school. Don't forget that you can drop off items until tomorrow (Thursday) at the school or you can leave your food/toys on your front porch at noon on Saturday, Nov 21st. Let's shine our light everyone as every little bit helps! #TheGiftCK See more

BUS DRIVERS NEEDED! We have faithful bus drivers who do an amazing job each day getting our students to and from school. We need a couple more people to get their bus license and be willing to take on a part-time, maybe even full-time, role in the future, to ensure our busses operate everyday at CCS. If you are interested, or know someone who is, please contact [email protected].

What a great surprise for students this afternoon to be outside for extra play! This was a well deserved and wonderfully enjoyed reward after successfully collecting 500 non perishable goods for Outreach for Hunger in early October. It was a great day to be outside!

Our middle school student life team is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive! They’re hoping to collect 500 non perishable food items for a local food bank. That’s approximately two items for each staff and student in grades JK-8. If successful, students will earn an extra 30min recess this month! Please consider what you can donate to those in need (and help students receive extra recess too!)

This week's Tech Tuesday is brought to you by Andrew Luth and Curtis Smids. For our Tech Design class, we were challenged to create a cart to take care of our music stand storage problem. We spent class time creating an effective design to solve this issue. We spent 12 hours building the two carts at the Luth’s house. These carts are a portable and easy way to transport music stands. Great job guys!

Volunteers Needed! God has opened the doors and due to some generous donors, our school’s Thrift Store will open a separate seasonal Christmas store, New Life’s Christmas Closet!! 100% of the sale proceeds will go directly to the school. We are hoping to be open for business by October 26, 2020 and need the help of volunteers to make this happen. Can you give a few hours a week and help make this venture possible? For more information or to volunteer, please contact Andrea Derksen at [email protected] or text (519)437-9445.

Wishing our entire CCS community a joyful and safe Thanksgiving! #Godisgood

Chatham Christian School 16.09.2020

Early this morning our teaching staff, many of our support staff members, and even some arriving community members, surrounded CCS and spent time in prayer asking for God's hand to lead, guide, protect, cover, guard and keep us in His care in the coming weeks and months, recognizing that He is in control of all things! Just as Joshua and the Israelites trusted God as they crossed the Jordan into foreign lands, so too do we trust Him with CCS! #strongandcourageous

We did it! We were able to bless Outreach for Hunger with 550 non perishable goods this afternoon. Way to go, Sparks; we can’t wait to surprise you with that extra recess. Thanks to our parents and families for supporting the students this week. We are thankful for you!

What’s Your 40? JK - 8 students and staff honoured the legacy and work of Terry Fox today by walking, running, jumping, and even completing push ups at school and on the local path at Mud Creek. There’s still time for you to join; let us know what your 40 is!

Chatham Christian School 14.07.2020

Congratulations to our grade eight class of 2020 who were finally able to celebrate together last evening. We pray you will know and grow in the gospel that you may never be ashamed of who you are as children of God!

Chatham Christian School 02.07.2020

Check out how grade one is integrating their learning about Terry Fox with their math learning on the number 10! To answer the question What’s Your 40? they decided to make a poster, find things in the garden, and glue them on. When they went into the garden they found so many little pine cones they decided to gather them and decide if they had enough. They realized they could have made 2 posters with 40! What a fun Terry Fox Math lesson.

Another beautiful day to be able to worship and listen to God’s word together outside. This time on the front boulevard for all our neighborhood friends to hear. #strongandcourageous

This week Friday, our elementary and middle school students will participate in a socially distanced version of our annual Terry Fox Run/Walk. Since it is the 40th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope, our staff and students are using the number 40 to celebrate Terry's determination in a variety of different ways - reading 40 books together this week, counting to 40 in French & English, covering 40 families in prayer... etc. We encourage our community to join in and answer the question "What's Your 40?"; how can you and your family honour Terry's legacy? Share some of your ideas and photos below!

Today was a beautiful day for outdoor learning! Grade two took advantage of the sunshine and spent the afternoon walking around Mud Creek learning about landscapes. They then created their own landscapes of Mud Creek during their outdoor art class.

Greetings Chatham Christian School community. This semester in high school, the Environmental Science class has taken on a new approach to the usual curriculum. Rather than just discuss issues about the environment and what we can do to help or what has been done, we are instead taking strides to create and encourage a more sustainable environment within our school. The main two things we are doing for this are raising and taking care of chickens, and building greenhouses to ...grow produce in. These things are benefiting our school by not only teaching the environmental science class, but also benefiting the other students in our school. Starting in the near future, the grade one class will be taking over as the helpers in caretaking for the chickens, to teach them some valuable life lessons and responsibility, and lots of the produce we grow in the greenhouses will go to the food and nutrition class in the high school. To make this dream a reality, however, we are asking for your help. There are a couple of resources needed to finish these projects that we do not yet have, most of which are for the greenhouses. The supplies that are needed are 1 chain-link fence top rail, and ’’, and 1’’electrical conduit. We ask that if you are able to, you would be generous enough to donate these remaining resources, it would be greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank Wayne Dehaan, Greg Devries, Joe Grootenboer and Brian Roffel for the time, knowledge and resources they have already graciously donated. Thank you for your continuing generosity. Sincerely, the entire Environmental Science class. See more
