Chatopia is looking for foster homes. Before contacting us about being a foster, please carefully read and consider the information below. In order to be a foster: -You should be willing to fill out an application -If you have another cat, it must be up to date in its vaccinations and sterilized.... -If you have another cat, you will need to have a closed off space for the foster to stay in until its time for a proper introduction to your cat or until it gets adopted. -We don't have kittens that need fostering currently -You need to have some experience taking care of a cat in the past -We provide everything you need to care for the cat, you provide a space, love and care. We are available at all times to give advice, tips and answer questions while the cat is in your care. - If you have a roommate or household member with allergies, fostering probably isn't a good idea -Be serious about committing to foster a cat for about 3 weeks (probably less) -Be 100% certain that you are ready and willing to foster -Be willing to give daily updates on how the cat is doing We are a volunteer based rescue and we need to concentrate our efforts on the rescued cats so please consider these things before contacting the foster coordinator. If you wish to foster please email:[email protected] See more

Update from Jazmine's foster mom: Jazz 's mouth is healing nicely. She is still congested so we are trying a new antibiotic. She loves to sleep on me for hours while I work and sunbathe.I don't know how she manages it but I wake up every morning to her snuggled into me as she gets in bed with me during the night. She's come a long way.

Day 22 update from Jazmine's mom: Jazmine continues to improve daily but is still congested. Luckily her ear treatments are completed. She plays more often, loves to sleep on or beside me for hours but her favorite thing to do is to eat!!! She begs for more food 5 minutes after finishing what's in her bowl no matter how much she gets.... She meows for me at 3am for cuddles.I'm exhausted some mornings but she's getting better so it's well worth it. **Please note Jazmine is not available for adoption yet.

Happily Ever After...Pasha Pasha had been through a lot before he came into my life. He was in need of some special attention so I prepared myself for all the possibilities. When this gorgeous, fluffy cloud arrived and floated around my apartment, following me, and rubbing up against my legs, I was delighted! We have already formed a very close bond. He loves to run around and play and spends most of his time snoozing and being adorable. He is a wonderful, highly intelli...gent, playful, loving, dreamboat of a cat and I am so grateful that we found each other through Chatopia! Love, Alin and Pasha

Day 17 update from Jazmine's foster mom: Jazmine is making progress every day. She is still congested but much less than when she first arrived. She has gained some much needed weight. We had a follow up appointment with Dr. Cote at Timberlea Vet Clinic and things are on track. The good news is that a suspected heart murmur was undetectable. She has a voracious appetite, loves to sleep on me for hours and loves her new cat nip toy sent to her from Nova Scotia!! She showers me with kisses everyday.

Happy Tails for Lilas! I adopted Lilas because I had just moved to Montreal and missed my cats that I had left behind with my mom when I moved. I wanted to adopted as I had never tried it before and knew there were many cats in need of a good home. Also, the thought of helping a cat with some possible behavioural challenges also enticed me. The day Terry came to drop her off and I saw her laying in her kennel like a little doll, I instantly fell in love. I was cautioned that... it may be months or years even until she may warm up to me or be social, if ever at all. That didn't stop me. I was determined to give her a good life. I could tell Lilas confidence was deflated and even her overall physical appearance looked sad and she was not socialized at all. I could hardly get close to her, never mind touch her. The first week I spent sitting with her in the bathroom as she hid behind the toilet and left treats on the floor until she eventually started to take them from my hand. Once she started to take them from my hand, I knew some trust was built and this was a good sign. At night she'd start coming out to explore - jumping on everything and sniffing around, not aware that I could see her. The first morning I woke up to see her laying on the couch curled up in front of me, I was so happy. Finally out of the bathroom for good. It's now been a few months with Lilas and her personality comes out more and more everyday. She no longer looks sad. She rolls around and has around 10 different spots in the house she loves to sprawl out and sun tan. She plays with all her toys and boxes when she thinks I'm not paying enough attention to her and talks to me constantly when I'm home in the evenings. Each day is a new surprise with her. She sits closer and closer to me everyday but lets me know I'm still earning her love and I have no problem with that. Adopting her has been so rewarding. Her personality which continues to grow everyday, puts such a smile on my face. See more

Day 10 update from Jazmine's foster mom : She is still congested but the coughing seems to have stopped. She hates having her picture taken but loves, loves, loves food. She has gained weight which I'm happy about. She now cries for me as soon as she hears me get up in the morning and she loves to cuddle during our afternoon and evening cat naps.... She is responding to the care she is getting and she seems content. Today she even played! See more

An update from Jazmine's foster mom: She is still very congested and coughing. She has a fabulous appetite despite being on meds and I decided to add some "Progut" to her food to make sure her tummy remains unaffected. She loves to put her head on me while she sleeps. She is becoming a bigger love bug every day. **Please note Jazmine is not available for adoption.

Meet 9 year old Nina. Although no doubt she was loved, this gentle little Persian was one of 10 others living with her owner. Given her quiet and passive nature Nina struggled at times, and as a result is really looking forward to having all the love and attention for herself in her new home. She’ll do well in a home without children and other animals. Nina will follow you around, purr as you gently pet her and even kiss you! She loves to lie in a sunbeam, her favorite spot ...being the windowsill. She’ll surprise you with her spurts of energy and the sweet quirks that make her so special, like chasing shadows on the floor! ? She’s becoming used to the daily eye cleaning she requires. You must be prepared to clean her eyes on a regular basis. She’s shy when visitors come over, finding a place to hide until they leave. This special little girl is so deserving of the perfect home. Is it yours? PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE; https://chatopia.ca/adopt.php

An update on our beautiful Maverick My little Puff. In March of 2020, my life as a CLSC worker, and that of all my colleagues changed forever- as we came face to face with a pandemic that will forever leave wounds in our hearts.... As a person at risk, I decided to move out of my appartment with my roommate. I also decided to cut down on almost all social interactions. And lastly, I decided to adopt my little Puff. Shy & scared at first, quickly warmed up to be the fluffiest ball of joy in my life. Whether through his morning cuddles & kisses, or his hilarious sleeping positions ( never seen a cat sleep so funny), or his love for playing catch, especially when he has the zoomies- my little Puff lights up my heart with joy. And, there are no words that could express enough my gratitude for Chatopia and the servicee that they give to our planet. To imagine that without them, he would be on the streets. Luckily , this is not the case. Not for us, nor for all the other animals that they have saved. So thank you Chatopia, for your service to this planet. Love forever, Mayss

Unfortunately, emergencies keep coming our way. On Friday we were asked to help little Roly, a 2 month old Chocolate point Siamese. She was severely bloated, slight swelling on her face, and in pain. We immediately sent her to DMV. She seemed to be fine on pain meds, bloodwork came back fine, xrays only showed an excess of food. She ate, played a little and at 1 AM she had a massive seizure. Her little body just couldn’t handle the trama... according to information given to us later, she had fallen from someone’s shoulder and had several seizures since then. Sadly, an accident that ended in her death. RIP little Roly. We did our best to give you a chance. #cantsavethemall #rescuekittens #sadstories #siamesecat #catlovers
