FNHA’s Fraser Salish region is currently accepting applications from Indigenous youth living in the Fraser Salish region (Burnaby to Boothroyd) to become founding members of their Youth Committee! The Youth Committee will help FNHA plan and deliver mental health and substance use projects that truly meet the needs and priorities of youth themselves - putting the YOU in YOUth! In return, Youth Committee members will receive mentorship, résumé building opportunities, friendship, leadership experience, learn about health systems, attend gatherings and travel in the region (when it’s safe to meet in person again), and experience the empowerment and resiliency-building of having their very important voices heard.

All efforts and attempts shall be made to return all non-target species including Sockeye, wild Coho salmon, Steelhead and Sturgeon, to the water alive and unharmed. After all efforts and attempts to return all non-target species to the water alive and unharmed have been made, wild Coho salmon may be retained. Sockeye salmon, Steelhead and Sturgeon must not be retained. As per the Minister’s announcement (July 13, 2020) on additional measures required to further protect the Interior Fraser River Steelhead, due to extremely low levels of abundance and a state of Extreme Conservation Concern for Late Summer run Fraser Steelhead stocks, we must stress the importance of full net attendance, hot picking during daylight hours and proper handling of fish during set net fisheries to ensure maximum release survivability during this critical time of influence on these stocks of extreme concern. During all fishing activity, each Set Net is attended by the fisher within 20 meters during the entire fishing activity and hot picked, to remove all viable non-target species including wild Coho salmon, Sockeye, Steelhead and Sturgeon, by the Participant who is fishing the net. Please take care on the water and hope your fisheries are safe and productive. With great respect, Angelika

We acknowledge these discussions to date have been challenging and we appreciate all your time in participating and the input provided.
