What will you call the feelings that people are experiencing in this pandemic COVID 19 situation. Today in the morning, there was a news item where the expert gave advice on communicating with children who have been acutely affected. With schools closed and a parent enforced lock down in the house, they are most affected. Our employees are equally affected. The need is to talk to them and understand how they feel and let them say whether it is fear, desperation or frustration.... The critical step is to make their feelings known and to let them know that they are important to us. Scott Berinato in this HBR article defines that feeling as grief. You may have a different opinion. But my advice is that do not ignore the feelings. Communicate. Communicate and Communicate. https://bit.ly/2JldpQv #Communication #mentalhealth #familyandrelationships #humanresources #checkpointstrategies #employeerelations

Whether working from home or in office or laid off due to lack of work, the fear of Corona virus is not sunk in some parts of the world. The developed countries are preparing for the worst to come; some others are supporting each other in the hour of uncertainty of the situation. There are many articles and advice from professionals on how to cope with the pandemic, how to work from home, how to reach out for the government subsidy. Everyone is supporting to provide their pie...ce of information. When your Daemon is in charge, do not try to think consciously. Drift, wait, and obey. Rudyard Kipling Are you one of those who keep finding catalyst to shine? Look for inspiration in what others around you do so that you create goals / benchmark to target. I am one of those. For almost a month, I had completely switched off from work, life and any kind of social media. I had to find something that pumped adrenaline in my system and suddenly, this article about bridging 5... generations at work came up. I would request you to share your thoughts. #motivation #inspiration #checkpointstrategies #success #leadership https://hbr.org//4-ways-to-help-different-generations-shar

Speaking up at a meeting on a topic of discussion is certainly a gauge to measure your knowledge in that topic. It also subtly communicates to the group clearly whether you wish to collaborate or earn brownie points or offer a completely different perspective. The last one implying is how foolish we have been in wasting our time in the lengthy discussions. There are other occasions when a participant continues to rant totally oblivious of the furtive glances of almost every...one at the time clock. There will be moments when you do wish to share but do not because of a situation and choose to communicate at a later opportunity. Allison Shapira’s article clarifies well how to and when to participate. I am sure, you will also have your own ground rules. #communication #publicspeaking #confidence #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #discussions #checkpointstrategies #humanresources http://bit.ly/2HUWTpj

How many times in life, you have regretted that you should have done something differently. You did not give enough thought and preparation to the result you expected. Personally, I would have done many things differently in life. I have made blunders, not knowing that it will cost me my happiness, peace of mind, loose friends / loved ones and at times a little bit of sanity. Unfortunately time does not rewind. You just need to learn from your mistakes and move forward. Some ...doors close on you and some doors close because of the options that you choose. However, in many cases, you should have made other choices. This morning I read a wonderful article of LinkedIn If I Could Start Over, Here’s What I'd Do Differently by Joel Peterson. I am sure you would wish you had chosen other options in life and at work. #motivation #inspiration #checkpointstrategies #mistakes http://pos.li/2eyk7j
