It's that time again. Vancouver shows off its fall colors. This time the red maple leaf (handpicked I might add) is paired with a scrumptious carrot cake with, and I quote the host : extra icing, because that is the best part.

BBQ Catering could be an option if you want to host an outdoor party. Important is that the food goes straight from the grill on the plate. No self serve condiments. If you would like sides like salads we can arrange a dedicated buffet assistant too make sure utensils are not shared among the guests.
Food ideas for a party? There are definitely some great recipes out there that can be served individually. How about these socially distanced ceviche lime cups. This picture is from last year, so for next party they will be further apart :)

Hello, Here I sit with the create post message staring at me for the last hour. So instead I watched Youtube videos of Blackadder and trying to find out why I would need 10 packs of toilet paper.... I feel sad, angry and conflicted. Something I am not familiar with. My days are normally filled with laughter, random singing, cooking and planning parties. How I wish to keep celebrating the moment with you. But if by doing that, means that I put people at risk, I should find another way to make a living for now (ideally from home). So we are closed for now till the end of April to help stop the spreading of the virus. In the meantime I am doing a bookkeeping course and try to find a job that I can do from home. Suggestions welcome!

Not sure who eat part of this cucumber man's hair. But I do know the kids at the charles dickens elementary loved making their @growingchefs food with moods. Don't think many of his fellow cucumbers survived lunch break. #crunchy #veglife in a #lunchbox
Food for thought Like your wardrobe, you want to match colours on your dish. Your food tells a bit who you are.... This story? I identify myself as Canadian with Dutch roots. The food on this plate is Canadian inspired, with a hint of Dutch influence. The wild rice has been cultivated in Winnipeg, paired with asparagus that is in season now in Bc and an all time favorite in the Netherlands. The Oceanwise Sablefish is native to the northern Pacific ocean, and also known in Dutch as 'zwarte Kabeljauw' (black cod), another staple in Dutch cuisine. The contrast with bright yellow sauce Hollandaise gives the plate its zest. If you read this farwhat hashtag would suit this picture best?
Cheese sandwiches, grilled or toasted, plain or dressed up like a fancy smancy. I can eat it at breakfast, lunch, dinner or midnight snack. Called it a croque monsieur, a tosti, a Carrozza or Barros Jarpa. Food is universal and not bound to your heritage. We learn from our mistakes, but failure is not an option. Or is it? Sometimes failure is just part of the bigger picture. We can still learn from our failures, we can still improvise when something fails. We just feel embarrassed showing our vulnerability at that time. In this picture I failed to uphold my own expectations. I should have done better and I felt angry for letting myself and my clients down. ... But with most things, failure is not the end of everything. It can be the start of something different, new, improved or even better. In this case I shouldn't have judged the book by its cover. the guests did like the fruit skewers, I sprinkled it with some mint to give it more colour and served it with vanilla ice cream. Even though I was not happy with it, I did make others happy
