Happy New Year! I’m finishing off the crazy year that was 2020 strong by editing my little butt off, and eating my weight in cheese! Hope you all have a safe and fun night, and see you in the new year!

Happy Holidays I’m off! Well, I still have lots of editing to do over the holidays but I’ll be taking it easy to enjoy some time with my mom and eat some good food! I’ll be back at it and shooting lots in the new year!... Let’s all cross our fingers that 2021 isn’t as hilariously awful as 2020

My high school prom date (and forever friend) Tony got married to the love of his life, Sara, and it was the sweetest socially distanced backyard bbq wedding I ever did see!

Hey everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on here! . As a lot of you know, 2019 was a really difficult year for me. I lost my dad at the verrry beginning of wedding season and it hit me REALLY hard. It was the busiest year I had to date, lots of weddings and family shoots booked and all I needed/wanted was a break I knew I couldn’t have. I just needed some time off to grieve and be with family and deal with everything. . At the beginning of 2020, I was feeling fresh and ...determined to get back at. To get back to what I love doing, creating a fun and unique photo experience for my amazing clients! . Then covid-19 happened. In quite literally a blink I had 90% of my weddings and shoots for the 2020 season postpone. It was heart breaking. My heart was broken for my business and also all of my couples whose wedding dreams were being taken away from them. . It all was a bit too much and so I had to take a break. A break from social media, a break from working. I know a lot of you are feeling the same way, and so I know I’m not alone in this. . After a few months of moping around and coming to terms with what happened, and everything that is going on in the world, I’ve realized that this is the break I had hoped for and wanted all last summer. So even though the current events and state of the world is incredibly stressful... I am thankful to finally have that rest I needed! . Thanks to my friend @turn_r for dragging my butt out the other day and for this new sweet pic! See more

I’ve been conflicted in how to post about the current situation on social media. Do I ignore COVID and hope it goes away soon? Do I comment on how this is effecting my business, and my mental health? Do I post like it’s business as usual? . I’ve been staying silent because I’m finding it hard to be positive in a world full of uncertainty and fear, but while editing this engagement session this morning, I was reminded why I love this job, even throughout the tough times! Cap...turing cute moments like this (Jon warming Elise’s hands after an impromptu snow ball fight) is what I live for, and I literally CANNOT WAIT to get back to photographing all of you! . If you want to book a photo shoot for sometime later this summer or fall, I’ll be here! Email or DM me and we can pick out a date! . Stay safe everyone. We will get through this together (but separate... social distancing is important) See more

It’s so close to Spring that I can smell it, but I’m still hung up on this gorgeous winter wedding! Can we have more snow please? (I know I know, that’s a crazy thing to say!)

I am so excited to start 2020 wedding season TOMORROW! I’m going to be making an announcement about the 2020 wedding season in my stories today! If you’re getting married in 2020 and still need a photographer, keep an eye on my stories! @ Tangled Garden

Hey everyone! A little bit of a different post from me on here! \\\ This is my husband Adam Those who have met Adam know how much of a giant teddy bear he is with the biggest heart! /// For the last 5 years he’s organized a charity event/fundraiser (along with Giant Halifax ) to raise money for Phoenix Youth Programs (they help keep local kids/teens safe, warm, and off the streets!) ... \\\ 20 cyclists will be outdoors in the freezing temps THIS SATURDAY (Feb 8th) for hours riding their bikes on stationary trainers to raise money! Stop by Giant Bicycle Halifax to watch them suffer, have a free Java Blend Coffee Roasters coffee, a snack, and donate a few bucks! /// If you can't make it out on Saturday, but still want to donate, click the link! https://www.canadahelps.org//hit-the-deck-2020-giant-halif

I am *this* close to being on Christmas vacation! We’re going to Vienna, Austria to be with my sister and her family. What are your Christmas plans??

Chelle Wootten Photography 10.06.2020

The results are in! Bronze! This year, I placed 3rd in the The Coasts Best Of Halifax Weddings poll!... As many of you know, this wedding season was extremely difficult for me on a personal level. I didn’t even think I would bother with trying to win a place on this poll, as even the littlest tasks seemed to be too overwhelming for me during this difficult time in my life. I am floored that I placed at all this year, but I did and I am truly thankful for all the love and support from all of you! I have the best friends, clients, and family anyone could ever hope for, and am reminded of this every year when the results of this poll come out. Thank you thank you thank you!

A behind the scenes shot of me with some kiddos from a recent extended family shoot! I sometimes have to pinch myself that this is my job... that I chase around 2 year olds with fart-rays for a living

Last month Meghan and Aaron flew Adam and I all the way to Newfoundland to photograph their wedding at Fogo Island Inn and it was literally the most amazing experience (I know there have been so many people waiting to see some photos from this trip and I can’t wait to share more!) I feel like not only did I capture some of my favourite wedding images to date, but also gained some new friends along the way!
