I imagine Harper puppy to be singing mommy and daddy sitting *on* a tree... K-I-S-S-I-N-G . She’s going to be the best big sister ever when this families bundle arrives in a few weeks!

Yesterday . She walked hand in hand with her husband through real life fern gully scenes, and snuggled with their puppy dog along creek edges before we ventured to the ocean. She had hoped to get into the water... even just a little bit. . Wading through the water first, she then sat on the shoreline for a few moments of stillness while the waves rolled towards her. It was pure magic ... . Before we know it, little one will be here. Hooray! See more

wedding day bling + blooms....

This moment. This moment encapsulates over 30 years of history. A meeting on Hornby Island. A reconnecting a decade later. Then 5 years ago, a wedding at St.Andrews Cottages in @qualicumbeach followed by purchasing a home nearby last year and wondering how to acknowledge this new start, this new place, plus everything in between! . They decided they would love to go back to their wedding day and experience it again "without distractions and the whir of madness involved in we...ddings." And so we did. . Starting at their home, we celebrated new beginnings (pets included) before meandering down whimsical forest trails, past the loyalists intent on saving the last remaining St Andrews building, and over to the beach. Putting Hornby Island in their background (because it is) these two celebrated and appreciated what they love most about each other. . Beside us, a heron posed. A sea lion rolled. Gulls circled. And I realized how much I adore vow renewals, and the intimacy of choosing your person all over again. . . . For all of you that have talked about doing something like this one day... let’s start planning. @barbaradensmorecelebrant and I have teamed up and think the gift of I want to marry you again would be great for Christmas (or just because)... . Just hit send on this incredible wedding celebration! It was my first time at Shawnigan Lake School and I am pretty sure my jaw hit the ground upon arrival. For him, it had been many years. For her, she was seeing these ancient trees for the very first time. They created a circle out of forest treasures, and stepped inside of it before exchanging vows, signifying this adventurous leap into a new chapter of their lives. I adored how as we wandered through the woods, she would often be looking high into the treetops in awe... But of course his eyes were on her. In awe <3

Mother nature kept us on our toes yesterday with plenty of downpours but these two didn't let that stop them from going through with all of their wedding day plans Mountain top first looks, family farm vow exchanges, friends + family embracing ponchos and umbrellas as accessories to their wedding attire, complete with plenty of dancing under twinkle lights. What a day, what a day

It rained and rained and rained. But we hardly noticed thanks to the trees (some 800 years old) that towered above us forming a beautiful canopy of protection. This evening with these two newlyweds and a small group of their favourite people was lovely. Now, gearing up for another big day of wedding celebrations tomorrow, rain or shine!
