What a special day today for our class at Chelsea Forest School. We had the opportunity to watch the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Chelsea Pioneer Cemetery since it just so happened we were playing in the forest next to the cemetery. Some of the kids even had the chance to talk with an armed forces medic afterwards. He answered many of their questions about his uniform, the special flags flying next to the Canada flag, and the story behind the veteran who is buried here and who was honoured at this ceremony - Private Richard Rowland Thompson, Boer War hero and the only Canadian recipient of the Queen's Scarf.
