I've been listening to the works of Alan Watts lately. Anyone else follow his words? I loved his comparison of searching for purpose and finding ourselves as peeling layers back of an onion searching for the centre. Except, once we are done, what we are left with is a pile of skins, and we realize that we were the onion. We are the layers, and our life is made up of all these things. Read a post today where someone described 2020 as unique. What a beautiful way to describe this year. Yes there are MANY other words to sum up 2020, but I really liked the use of unique. It takes away the negative while still emphasizing how different it has been from years past. So many unique experiences we have all gone through this year, unique challenges and unique connections made. Rephrasing and shifting perspective and continuously learning as we head into 2021. This is me, my family. Every piece of me is tied to these little beings. I love us. And each day of this life is a new experience with them. I often refer to life as before and after kids. Typically it's in a joking matter that we were able to achieve so much before we had kids. But oh, look what we have achieved in having kids!
