Heads up to our wonderful community! Food drop offs are happening from 9:00am until 11:00am Thursdays in Chemainus at our foodbank. From 10:30am until 11:30am at 49th Parallel Grocery in Chemainus on Fridays and in Crofton from 9:30am until 10:30am!

Thank you to Island Savings Credit Union and 49th Parallel Grocery for their donation of $3109.35 through the Full Cupboard program. This money was raised through the Fill the Truck event this month. Roberts Street Pizza donated $500 and Chemainus Firehall donated $1,000. Our community continues to come together during hard times to support those who help those less fortunate. A huge Thank You to the community of Saltair coming together on Sunday Dec. 20th for a food drive at Area G director Lynne Smith’s home. Santa had to fight off a hungry T-Rex, trying to get his fill. They collected $770.00 and about 560# of food! Awesome job Saltairians! A Merry Christmas to everyone who took part to help both Harvest House Food bank and Ladysmith foodbank!

Social Distancing Reminder: All clients will need to wear masks at both Chemainus and Crofton sites until further notice. If you do not have one, one will be given to you. All our social distancing measures have been put in place to keep all our volunteers and clients safe. We thank you all for adhering to our rules while at both sites. There’s so many different ways you can donate to help out your local foodbank! This includes Canadahelps.org, donating using the $2.00 coupons at 49th Parallel Grocery, you can donate a car (working or not) or even mail a cheque to our P.O. Box #188, and buy a donation bag from the 49th Parallel Grocery
Did you know in 2019 food banks in British Columbia have out 5,570,329 meals! That’s an amazing number but hopefully this year we can shoot for even higher!

The recent collaborative fundraiser between 49th Parallel Grocery and Island Savings brought communities together to help their local Food Banks. 49th Parallel Grocery sold 444 brown bags full of non-perishable food and Harvest House received a total of $8,159.00. Thank you to everyone who purchased bags and donated cash to this amazing event. We are so thankful to our community!Congratulations to all the winners of a NEW BBQ!!!
