The holiday season is quickly upon us. Though things are looking quite different this year there are still many ways we can create the liveliness of celebration for our children and ourselves. Music and rhythm has an amazing ability to lift our spirits and bring joy to our hearts. So, today I am sharing a rhythm shaker craft. Living rooms and kitchens make great concert venues for our littles and us big kids too. Tis the season to turn up the tunes and shake, rattle and roll your way through the holidays.

We have been discovering the beautiful art of Vincent Van Gogh in our Strong Start classroom. Today I am sharing a story about Van Gogh. Written by Laurence Anholt. It is so wonderful to be inspired by beautiful art. Creating and sharing our masterpieces together is a fantastic way to pass the time during winter months. Happy December friends

Hello Strong Start Friends. Today I am sharing a poem about the month of November and a story. The story is called the Little Yellow Leaf and it is written by Carin Berger. Now that the days are becoming shorter and winter is just around the corner, what are you noticing about our changing season? I have been watching all the busy birds in my cherry tree that has lost all it’s leaves. And just the other day I spotted a Northern Flicker, it was a beautiful bird and very exciting to see.
