As a global day of giving, Giving Tuesday is a time to celebrate and encourage activities that support charities and non-profits. This year we are counting on support from our community to help strengthen our resources to support strategies we have implemented to keep our staff and consumers safe in our current climate. Here is how your gift can make an impact: There are a few ways you can give to the Everyday Dreams Fund this year... ... Support the extra cost of Personal Protective Equipment... to keep our staff and consumers safe. Purchase and subsidize necessary equipment and supplies like a motorized wheelchair, which costs upwards of $20,000. Provide additional assistance when consumers need it most like attendant support for a last-minute out-of-town medical appointment. Fund repairs to essential equipment with no government coverage for repairs to wheelchairs and electronic lifts, this support is vital to our consumers’ lives. Support the extra cost of cleaning and disinfecting. Consider becoming a monthly donor. Spread the word! Share on your social media to increase our following! Thank you for generous giving! https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/5390

Cheshire, in collaboration with our Community Support Services Network partners, is pleased to be a recipient of resources through the United Way’s Emergency Community Support Fund, funded by the Government of Canada, to support vulnerable Canadians in London and Middlesex during the COVID-19 pandemic. This critical investment will ensure rapid relief reaches those who need it most. It’s just one way we’re working together to keep our region strong through an uncertain recov...ery. - Kelly Ziegner, President & CEO, United Way Elgin Middlesex Recent directives around social distancing have resulted in increased challenges for seniors, adults with disabilities and their caregivers, who already faced challenges with social isolation and access to daily needs. As the pandemic continues, these pressures are increasing. Through the Emergency Community Support Fund, we will support seniors, adults with disabilities and their caregivers with: 1. Improved access to much needed essential items with the dissemination of COVID-kits. 2. Urgent assistance and access to basic needs such as nutrition, groceries, deliveries, medication, personal care items and transportation. 3. Urgent one:one in-home respite support for caregivers who are at risk of burnout, giving them the relief that is required to continue to manage the increased load. We are so thankful to the United Way and to the Government of Canada for their ongoing support of our communities during a very challenging time in our history. For more information on how to access these resources, please call 519-673-6617 to speak to one of our Intake Coordinators. http://unitedwayem.ca/united-way-flows-2-2m-in-covid-19-re/ @#unitedwayemca @#ESDC_GS #ECSFund

Cheshire is proud to work alongside our amazing community partners in the development and implementation of the Community Support Pandemic Fund to provide support and access to resources during this challenging time. Recent directives around social distancing have resulted in increased difficulties for many seniors and adults with disabilities who have faced challenges with social isolation and access to daily needs such as groceries, meals, transportation. The Community Supp...ort Pandemic Fund is created to provide short term relief for those who have been impacted. We are so grateful for the support of the United Way Elgin Middlesex who, with assistance from the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program, have recognized a need and responded to the call for help. To date, United Way Elgin Middlesex has facilitated more than $1 million in COVID-19 recovery efforts through government grants such as the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, charitable giving and future pledges.

Some lovely, creative and heartfelt artwork created by one of our employees. They provided enough for each of our program offices to put up to serve as a reminder of how thankful we are for our wonderful staff!
