To Our Patients, As many of you are aware, Nova Scotia is in the second wave of Covid-19. We are trying our best to stay open and keep it out of our communities. After the new health directives given from Dr. Strang and the increases in cases seen yesterday, Dr. Zinck has decided that it is in her patients and staff’s best interest that we not see anyone who has been to the RED zone (Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville and surrounding areas) in the 14 days prior to their a...ppointment. Exceptions may include those travelling for work. We will gladly re-book you an appointment in the future. We will reassess as the situation evolves. Our office staff is working diligently to keep the schedule fluid. We know this will be an inconvenience for many of you but hope that you will understand that keeping our most vulnerable patients safe and keeping Covid-19 out of our community is of utmost importance. If you had an appointment while we were shut down and have not had a call to reschedule, please just give our front desk a call to re-book. When you arrive at your appointment, please phone the office at 902-275-5184 or 902-275-3330 to let us know you are here. You will be asked some screening questions then someone will be out for you shortly. You must wear a mask in the office until you have been seated in one of our rooms. If you do not have a phone to call in, just come a...nd knock at the front door and someone will be out to help you. We just want everyone to know that we are back up and running almost to the same as we were before we were shut down. We are doing all of the procedures that we did years before. We are trying to see as many patients as we have seen in the past and trying to play catch up with the appointments and emergencies that were missed. Some days we run behind, emergencies do happen. Hi everyone... We are starting to slowly open things up. We are now booking EMERGENCY ONLY appointments for next week. Our hygiene appointments for next week will be contacted and rebooked. Please be patient as there is so much for our receptionists to do. Starting June 22nd, our HYGIENE appointments will continue as booked previously. You will be contacted to be rescheduled if your appointment was booked while we were off. We are excited to get back at things but there will be lots of changes coming. We are trying hard to get things back up and running and look forward to seeing all your lovely smiles. Please share so we can get the word out. More information will be coming next week.

To our patients, We are gearing up to return to practice. Much thought, care and elbow grease has been taken to ensure that treatment in our clinic is done as safely and efficiently as possible. Even though the Provincial Dental Board has stated we are able to return to practice to treat emergent and urgent dental care on June 5, 2020 it has rightfully so stated that we require additional personal protective equipment (PPE) to operate. Dentistry is no stranger to PPE and we h...ave always used universal precautions to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. The emergence of COVID-19 however has not surprisingly increased the need and type of PPE required to perform dentistry. Stocks of PPE are low for obvious reasons and we currently do not have everything we need to open. We are hoping to be able to give you a date on reopening by the end of this week once delivery dates are verified from our suppliers. Please know that this will be a challenging time for staff. We will work hard to contact everyone that was scheduled during the time off as well as those that have called during the Pandemic. To all those affected by last weekends horrible incidents, please know we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. To our own patients that lost loved ones, we send our deepest condolences. We sure are missing our patients. While all of this is going on around us, we wanted to do something to let you know we are thinking of you all and we want to get back to normal just as much as you do. We have put some teddy bears in our windows for when families are out driving around, little ones can find them. It’s called the teddy bear hunt. Local business and houses are doing the same. Update March 15, 2020 @ 10:13pm In accordance with current recommendations from the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 that were sent out this evening, the office is currently CLOSED for all scheduled appointments. We will be in contact in the coming days to reschedule. We ask that you not try to make/change appointments through our Facebook. We will keep everyone updated on when we will be opening as soon as we find out. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and will work to rebook appointments as necessary. Dr. Zinck’s staff would like to wish her a Happy 10th Birthday today. We took her out to celebrate on Thursday night at the Fo’c’sle and may have redecorated the office for the day. Can anyone guess her age????? Hopefully you get spoiled today..... you deserve it Tash.

Dr. Zinck and her staff would like to wish all of our patients and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Our office will be closed over the holidays and we will reopen on January 2, 2020. If you have an emergency (pain, swelling or bleeding) please call our office to get the emergency number. Well today is another big day in our office. Today is Janet Walker’s last day. She is officially retiring. We would like to wish her all the best and we will miss her like crazy. I’m sure she will miss us this summer as she is sitting by her pool sipping a cocktail. Congratulations Janet. Enjoy every second of your retirement, you deserve nothing but the best!

Dr. Zinck has decided to delay opening the office tomorrow until 2pm to keep her patients and staff safe off the roads. Hopefully this will be the last snowfall this spring. Stay safe everyone.
