Chez Nous 19.12.2020

I guess it's well and truly bottle shopping season! Warning: opening times will vary wildly over the next few weeks, so check back here (the stories, specifically) for the most up-to-date info... At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I will again try to express my intense gratitude for all the support that has flowed this way in the last little while. Kind words, bottles purchased, asses frozen off on the patio; just when I feel like giving up, the community comes through and reminds me why I opened a bar in the first place. I can't wait to have you all back in here one day.

If you're anything like me, one of the things you are missing most right now is TRAVEL! Been reminiscing hard of this time just one year ago, when @jehn13 and I were eating and drinking our way around Champagne and Burgundy with absolutely zero idea of how shockingly different life would look in one year's time! Anyway, back to today. In the spirit of vicarious enjoyment, the bottle shop will be featuring themed 3-packs based on the classic varietals of my fave French wine re...gions. A bit of an oenological staycation, if you will. We have: LOIRE > chenin blanc, sauv blanc, cab franc ALSACE > pinot gris, riesling, gewurz BURGUNDY > chardo, pinot noir BORDEAUX > cabs franc and sauv, merlot Bottle shop open from NOON today! À très bientôt!

In case you hadn't heard, the ban on indoor dining was extended for another month. Obviously a huge blow to all the small business owners and staff members who were fiercely crossing every pliable digit in the hopes that we'd be able to resume regular service on Saturday. It looks like we have one more day of nice weather before temps dip again, so the patio will be open from 3 today, then probably closed for a few days as I try to rig up some sort of extension cord + space ...heater sitch, buy more longjohns, and assemble mulled wine ingredients...watch this space! If you have any opportunity over the next little while to support small businesses and shop locally, one thing I can say with certainty in this highly uncertain environment is that your choices will be appreciated, deeply. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who have come out to the patio this past week, or purchased from the bottle shop, or even just sent messages of support. It means a heck of a lot
