And the sun does not shine because someone wants it to. It shines because that is what it was born to do. ~ @NikitaGill Looking back on one of the most magnificent sunrises I have ever experienced. I captured this sunrise back in the summer of 2006 on the top of the Haleakal (house of the sun) volcano in Maui, Hawaii. I was 10,023 feet above sea level and literally had my head in the clouds...it was spectacular! I had never experienced the sun like I did that early mo...rning. And if there is anything we can learn from the sun it’s that much like it, we are all born to shine and not for anyone or anything but rather for ourselves! Now take the time to think about that as you go about your day. P.S. Word to the wise, if you ever decide to visit Haleakal be sure to leave things as they are because you don’t want to be cursed....Pele’s (Hawaii’s Goddess of Volcanoes and Fire) curse! The legend states that anyone who foolish enough to take a volcanic rock will suffer horrible bad luck until the rock is returned. It has been said that those who haven’t taken the myth seriously and have taken from the volcano have later mailed back their borrowed souvenirs with letters sharing stories of their bad luck...death, bankruptcy, and heartbreak. I hope you speak what’s on your mind, that you raise your voice for... injustice, that you tell others that you love them, instead of waiting until it’s too late. I hope you live louder, shine brighter. From this moment on. ~ Unknown 2021 has arrived and it’s time to look forward and leave 2020 behind us.
