A must read article by Dr Shane Bateman! (Emergency & Critical Care Specialist Ontario Veterinary College) "...dogs are particularly vulnerable to heat illnesses because they tend to be people-pleasers and go along with what they sense will make their owners happy. So much so, he said, it can sometimes override the animal's instincts for self preservation." * this is so important to understand: don't wait for signs from your beloved pooch to let you know they are in trouble, prevent heat stress from happening in the first place*

To our valued clients, We would like to express our thanks to you for your patience during these past weeks. It has been a difficult time for everyone. As Ontario enters phase one of reopening we would like to provide an update as to how our hospital is approaching the new guidelines. We are now permitted to provide non urgent care to our patients. However, we must continue to provide a safe working environment and so we continue to navigate the balance between expanding our... services and adhering to safety guidelines for employees, clients and our community. The mandated move to provide emergency care only resulted in the cancellation of many wellness visits and elective surgeries. We would like to reassure you that your pet’s health & wellness is of the utmost importance to us. Our staff will be contacting you over the coming weeks to reschedule your appointment. *If you would prefer to contact us, please consider sending an email (the phone lines are very busy). It would be very helpful if you could also provide us with a few dates and times that you are available: [email protected] In order to provide as much contactless service as possible our curbside drop off & pick up policy remains in effect; we have a table beside our front door to facilitate hands free pick up of food and medications; we will have physical distance markings installed on the sidewalk; and we request that payment be made via credit card over the telephone. When you arrive for your scheduled appointment or/ to pick up food or medications: *Call us on your cell phone when you arrive at the hospital: 519-748-6638 *Our RVT will come out to collect your pet (on leash or in a carrier please!) *We will call you on the cell # provided by you once the attending veterinarian has examined your pet (note: the call from our doctors may be an unlisted number) *if you are picking up an order, payment will be taken over the phone and your order will be placed on the table beside our front door MyVetStore We are very excited to offer this new online service!
