With the warmer weather coming to stay, ticks are already out and are very active this year! After coming home from outside the best thing to do is examine your dogs for ticks, these are some of the main places they like to hide and how to find them.

Good morning everyone! With this stay at home order in place, we are still booking appointments but are remaining curbside. We ask that everyone calls upon arrival as our doors will remain locked. If you have an appointment we ask you wait in the car after calling, we will call you when we are ready to get your pet in. For supply pick-up, we ask that if possible, credit-card or e-transfer be done over the phone either ahead of time or while you are in your car; we will then m...eet you at the front door to hand the product(s) to you, or gladly run these out to your vehicle, please ensure you are wearing a mask and have sanitized. Happy Easter weekend everyone! Please ensure you keep your cats away from lilies if you receive them this weekend, we want to keep all our fur babies safe! The entire plant is toxic. Ingesting any part of the plant can cause complete kidney failure in 36-72 hours. The toxicity may occur by ingestion of, by licking a few pollen grains off its fur while grooming, or by drinking the water from the vase.

Please be aware we are receiving an increased number of visits and reports for coughing dogs. There is a current outbreak of kennel cough that is being spread at dog parks, boarding, and training facilities. If your dog develops a cough please call and let us know and we will determine if your dog needs to be seen. If you have a coughing dog/ frequent the dog park please let us know at the time you arrive so we can take appropriate precautions. Scotch has been found! MISSING Scotch is a 3.5 year old Scottish Fold cat missing since October 16th from the HWY 169 area near One Road. Scotch is a timid cat and unfortunately he is not microchipped. If you have seen Scotch, please contact the clinic at 705-687-7292.

While we would normally start to catch a breath in September this year it has not slowed much at all due to the larger client base we are now serving. This video gives a view into some of the challenges we are facing on a daily basis and why we may not always be able to help/answer right away. Thanksgiving Holiday Hours Our hours of operation this weekend are as follows: Friday October 9th - 8:30am-5:00pm Saturday October 10th - 9:00am-1:00pm Sunday October 11th - CLOSED... With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it's a good idea to make sure your Turkey Day will be as pet-friendly as possible. In the spirit of attempting to prevent a Thanksgiving Day disaster in your home, here are some common exposures during the week of Thanksgiving.

We often hear "my cat is indoors and doesn't need rabies". Dr. Doyle had a first-hand experience this past weekend that is a perfect reminder about keeping our kitties safe living in Cottage Country. Just because your cats stay indoors it doesn't mean that all the critters we share this space with will always stay outside.
