Just found out I'm the best selling indie author on Prosporo Books @ Bank & Slater! This is a thrill to hear. One must keep in mind that these kinds of sales will not allow for the immediate purchase of a tropical island but still very nice indeed. Other stores where the book, 'Grace and Wisdom', is available include: BOOKS on BEECHWOOD; BOOKSHELF (Guelph); LAKEHEAD UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE (Thunder Bay); OCTOPUS BOOKS (3rd Ave); PERFECT BOOKS (Elgin St); PROSPORO BOOKS; WORDS WORTH BOOKS (Watherloo); BOOK KEEPER (Sarnia). This is the story of one man's journey in Canada from 1889 to 1963 where he rose to the pinnacle of his career. Visit www.chiefjusticekerwin.ca for more information. These are pictures of Mrs. Kerwin and CJ Kerwin sitting on their porch at their home on Wilbrod St. at the corner of Charlotte in the 1940s. This home was later torn down for a project that has yet to be. This picture of the brick from this home was given to my mother, Prof. Isobel Kerwin McKenna, by one of the Cohen brothers who ran the firm that did the demolition. The pictures are from a photo album of my mother's. Contact me at [email protected] for more information on the biography of CJ P. Kerwin.

While doing research for my book, 'Grace and Wisdom', I learned a great-great grandmother was the first woman in Canada to give birth to quadruplets. Family lore told of her receiving 50 pounds (a lot of money in the 1870s) and a plaque. I have never seen the plaque and wondered if there were records of this. So I wrote to Queen Elizabeth to find out more. The reply is what you see below and the author clears up the amounts paid in cases of this sort. The information receive...d was quite helpful. But, imagine that, getting a letter from Windsor Castle! Write me a [email protected] Visit www.chiefjustickerwin.ca

In his early years, Patrick Kerwin learned to play the trombone so he could make a bit of money while in high school. Playing with Quinn's Band and Dunn's Sarnia Band, this helped him save for his education at Osgoode Hall in the big city of Toronto a few year later. The article is from the Sarnia Observer, 11 August 1905. The picture is of he and his bandmates in front of old City Hall in downtown Sarnia.
