Hello friends, meet Lennox the Lion. The school age children based on an interest to paint a large scene, created a storyboard which will be used as a dramatic back drop for a preschool learning play. This is an emergent collaboration, which has three specific parts. 1. The school age art project, 2. The educators extend this with a learning story. 3. Present this to the preschool children and parents. Miss Caz & Miss Jemima

Children love books they can interact with. This is one of the toddlers favourite books at circle time. Here is Miss Ali reading the book Peekaboo Baby. We hope your little ones enjoy it as much as our toddlers do.

Ok everyone get into your boats, it’s time to cross the swamp!! Our preschool children may frequently be seen sharing their favourite Yoga poses with their peers. They especially love going on a Dragon Hunt and performing the different poses (climbing the trees, paddling their boats across a stinky, smelly swamp and building their own bridge to avoid the rickety old bridge) as the story progresses. We play the audio of the story for the children and they eng...age their imagination, receptive language skills and gross motor skills as they preform the actions of the story. We play this game inside and outside whenever it is requested by the children (at least a few times a week). The activity promotes an increasing attention span, relaxation and memory skill development as well as the dramatic play aspect of it. Hello friends. Here is a quick and easy activity to help children on their letter recognition. It’s a great way to introduce the children to the letters make up their name and have fun with stickers. The activity promotes children with letters and colours. It also allows children to use their memory to match the letter stickers to the letters in their name. Have fun learning letters! Hi TCP family and friends.Seeing that the weather outside is getting colder, we have been talking more about winter clothing. So here is a simple craft of hats and mittensfor our children to decorate. We used construction paper, markers, scissors, crayons and pastels. The children were able to design their own hat and mittens. You could even use paint if you wanted. This activity will enhance your child’s fine motor skills, language development, and being able to identify their colours. Miss Zeinab & Miss Bijou

Happy winter wonderland everyone. Boy it sure looks beautiful outside. Here is a way to bring the winter inside. Try using tempra paint on your windows. You can paint anything you want, a snowman, snowflakes or even a Christmas tree. The children can talk about what they are painting and how it makes them feel. Miss Zeinab & Miss Bijou

Good evening friends. Here is one of Miss Chris’s favourite books to read to her toddler friends. This book is great for introducing colours to young children. Also it’s has the children guessing what colours the rabbit will turn into. The toddlers always request this story at circle time. So sit back and relax and enjoy the story. https://youtu.be/wgr8Yh5NJ8k

Practicing physical (social) distancing doesn’t mean losing touch with those around you. Friends, here is a super fun activity for you to try with your family. You could create a collage of all the beautiful pieces of art you make when doing Bubble Painting. The goal for the children is to foster their creative imagination through art. They would also be learning their primary and secondary colours, and sensory exploration. Miss Jemima & Miss Chanti https://youtu.be/Jd8Sxp69lSo

Howdy friends. Seeing that the last of the leaves on the trees have fallen, here is one last fall art activity for you. This is one that can involve the whole family. Depending on the age of the children doing the activity they may need some help from an adult. You will need a tree truck cutout , coloured construction paper to make the leaves, scissors, and a marker for an adult or older child to write down the names of the people in your family. This activity is great for having a discussion about the people in your family and their names. Some children think that mommy’s name is mommy. Lol Miss Lakshmi, Miss Katie, Miss Faith & Miss Icolyn

Good morning!! Here is a fun and challenging fine motor skill activity. For this activity you will need a big piece of paper with holes punched into it. The children will then weave the string through the holes. All you need is string/yarn, paper and a hole punch. They children can pretend they are sewing just like mommy or daddy. Have fun!! Another new life skill learnt. Miss Kaitlin & Miss Sarab
