In late February of 2020 - days before the Covid-19 pandemic hit - we hosted a group of working parents and their children at our first pop-up event in Vancouve...r to enjoy a day of free coworking and childminding. We took the opportunity to ask them about their challenges, what work-life balance means to them, and how a service like Nestworks could benefit their families. We took that content and produced a beautiful video. The Nestworks team also presented what we propose as a solution: high quality childminding and after-school care in an innovative coworking space, as a community and a "village," with the goal of not only supporting families practical needs, but also improving their mental health and well-being. Six months later, we are still holding the dream of Nestworks, and intend to start hosting pop-up events again as soon as its safe and practical. In the meantime, you can help us to continue to grow awareness about the need for an integrated, sustainable approach to work/life balance in the BC Lower Mainland and beyond.
