Ambassador Feature: Tegan Diagnosis: ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) Age at Diagnosis: 2 years old Tegan was diagnosed with leukemia in 2011, when she was only 2 years old. She went through 26 months of chemotherapy (IV, oral, and intrathecal) and completed treatment in 804 days. Her biggest struggle was, and still is, leg pain and weakness caused by the chemotherapy that saved her life. Today, Tegan is a happy and healthy 7th grader who is passionate about childhood cancer advocacy through her participation in the Small But Mighty SK. Her family is hopeful the event can safely return in September 2021.

Set a date and share your personalized fundraising page with your friends and family.... 3. Cut, shave or dye your hair and share on social media. 4. Tag and nominate your friends and family. Thus far, Snipping for Hope has raised over $12,000. Thank you for helping us support families in Canada dealing with childhood cancer.

Ambassador Feature: Ayverie Diagnosis: Stage 4 High Risk Medulloblastoma Age at diagnosis: 8 In January 2013, 7-year-old Ayverie started to show signs of a typical flu; vomiting, headaches, fevers and dizziness. A CT scan showed a 5 cm mass on Ayverie’s brain stem and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Medulloblastoma (brain cancer). Ayverie's treatment was long and included radiation, chemotherapy, and multiple surgeries, but sadly Ayverie gained her angel wings on A...pril 3, 2019. Ayverie would want to be remembered as a childhood cancer advocate and the Toronto Raptors and Raptors 905’s biggest fan. Ayverie is a long standing Childhood Cancer Canada ambassador. She inspires us and the work we do every day and we miss her very much.

The 5th annual Clays for Kids event presented by the National Bank at the Galt Sportsman Club was a huge success, raising over $135,000 for kids with cancer! The annual clay shooting event safely followed strict Public Health guidelines on over 265 acres on Friday, October 2, 2020. We’d like to share our immense gratitude to our sponsors and to each attendee who joined. Funds raised will go towards vital childhood cancer programming, support, and research. Ambassador feature: Ashlynne Diagnosis: Stage 2, Wilms Tumour Age at diagnosis: 4 years old When Ashlynne was only 4 she was diagnosed with a form of kidney cancer called Wilms Tumor. Unfortunately, her uncle passed away from Wilms 17 years before she was born so the world of childhood cancer was not new to Ashlynne’s family. Today, she is a childhood cancer advocate. Her life experiences make her wiser than her years. She loves to share her story and be an inspiration to others.

Ambassador Feature: Kendric Diagnosis: Medulloblastoma Age at diagnosis: 3 years old __ Soon after his third birthday and just 7 months after his baby brother was born, Kendric was flown to IWK in Halifax after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. He endured a 10 hour brain surgery, 5 other cancer related surgeries (port-a-cath, G-tube, hernia), 30 sedated radiation treatments and over 2 years of intense chemotherapy. Kendric turned 12 years old this year and continues to battle the after-effects of his brutal treatment, including: pulmonary fibrosis, cardiac issues, growth hormone deficiency, precocious puberty, hypothyroidism, hearing loss, daily injections and frequent doctor appointments. Kendric continues to push through his unfair, painful life with a beautiful smile and a shining will to live and enjoy each day.

Our friends at Camp Quality Canada have opened up registration for their Breaking Borders program for 2021! __ Breaking Borders is a FREE outdoor adventure program for young adult survivors of childhood cancer ages 18-29. Ambassador Feature: Jose-Julian Diagnosis: Wilms Kidney Tumour Age at diagnosis: 16 __ Jose-Julian is known for his positive approach to life by those closest to him. After being diagnosed with a Wilms Tumour on March 27, 2020, Jose-Julian immediately decided it was just a bump in the road and that he would overcome and become stronger as a person. After a major twelve-hour surgery on May 20, 2020 to remove the tumour, his kidney and a piece of his liver that was affected by the tumour, he arrived in the ICU with a huge smile on his face. Despite the difficultness of being diagnosed with cancer during a pandemic, Jose-Julian has persevered with a smile, ready to face whatever may come next.

Ambassador Feature: Oliver and Annabelle Diagnosis: Stage 4 Hepatoblastoma Age at diagnosis: 16 months __ Oliver was diagnosed in 2016 and treated at SickKids hospital in Toronto, with 10 rounds of chemotherapy and three surgeries to remove cancer on his liver and lungs. Thankfully the 11 cm tumour on Oliver’s liver responded well to chemotherapy, shrinking away from the vena cava and making surgery easier. He has been in remission since February 2017 and wears hearing aids a...s a result of the chemotherapy he received. Oliver’s full personality came out once treatment was over.
