This week, our little friends spent time making gifts to their moms because Mother's Day is coming. They truly want to show how much they love their mothers, and express their gratitude what their moms did for them. Each child put efforts in working on their gifts for their mothers. They really appreciate what their mothers to do for them. Happy Mother's Day for every mom which is the hardest job in the world!

Let's look what we did during COVID-19. In recent weeks, we made some crafts about season, fruits, and insects. Also, we made hearts to express our gratitude for all essential workers, front-line staffs, and childcare providers! Thank you all for hard- working during the pandemic! Meanwhile, we miss all our center children and staffs who stay at home at this certain period. Hope everyone stay safe and health !

After a long feeling winter season we have a lot of new art ideas under our belts. One we recently discovered was salt painting. First the children used white glue to create in image, then poured salt to cover all the glue, and finally using eye droppers they added colored water. The process was slightly messy but the final outcome resembled multicolored fire works or space images. We have been enjoying diving into indoor activities this season but we all are itching for the fully outside days of summer.

As the weather gets warmer the children love to explore the changing environments around them. The days are getting longer, the sun is shining, and the snow is melting. This provides so many natural opportunists for learning! The scientific changing forms of water, ice, mud and slush, the awakening and livening of the birds, the flowers slowly poking up out of the garden, and so much more. This time of year might be a bit messy but if you abandon the need to stay neat and clean your children will reap the infinite benefits of fully exploring their magical, changing environment.

Children find wonder is so many things, Earlier this season we noticed some HUGE icicles on the side of the daycare. (we have to admit, even the teachers were in wonder) We safely knocked them down, trying hard to keep the pieces as bis as we could and brought them in for the children to explore. After simply using their hands we offered them spoons, forks, and magnifying glasses to investigate further. The children then began to wonder what would happen if we added hot water, food coloring, and salt to the bin. We all had a great time exploring their ideas together. This activity was incredibly interesting to the children and used very simple tools and a bit of nature. What ways can you scaffold your child's curiosity about the world around us?
