We hope to facilitate a Pregnancy and Infant Loss Grief Support Group for parents and families whose baby has died from miscarriage, stillbirth or within the first year of life. For those who have had a loved one die in ways including, but not limited to, suicide, homicide, accident, or substance use, we are offering a Traumatic Loss Grief Support Group beginning the week of November 16. All our services are FREE to our community. We have tightened our belt as much as we can, but we are teetering dangerously on the edge of having to cut back these essential services. We cannot raise funds through events - this represents a 19% loss of our annual operating income - which equates to $190,000.00. Tonight, October 17, would have been our 17th Annual Gala. A highly anticipated fundraising event in our community each year, we are deeply disappointed we cannot gather with you due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We wish to offer our sincere thanks to these businesses who so generously supported our gala last year, raising $106,000 for Chilliwack Hospice Society. Through grants, sponsorship, and your individual donations, our organization will be able to continue its work this year and into 2021, providing the free bereavement programs, grief support, and palliative support services so many depend on.
