Wondering what to do during this awkward week between Christmas and New Year's? Why not clean those stanky boxing gloves! First of all never leave your boxing gloves in your bag after class, once home wipe them out with paper towel or a towel to absorb moisture. If you have a glove dryer (DryGuy Force on amazon.ca works well) dry your gloves on there. Do not spray cleaner or febreze in your gloves and they can cause skin irritation and build up making gloves stiff and uncomf...ortable. To clean the inside of gloves you can use a vinegar, water, and tea tree oil solution and then let them air dry. You can also use essential oils like peppermint mixed with water (10 drops to one cup water) in a spray bottle to help kill bacteria and smell. Meet The Coach: For those of you who may not know the coach of the Chilliwack Boxing Club is Sylvain Carrier. Sylvain trained in martial arts for 11 years and has focused on just pure boxing for 5.5 years. He transitioned to coaching boxing and has been doing that for around 5 years. Sylvain grew up in Chilliwack and wanted to invest what he's learned back into his community. So in 2016 Sylvain and his trainer (ex pro boxer Stacy Midgly) established the Chilliwack Boxing Club. The club was created because there was no place to really train in Chilliwack and Sylvain wanted to help others learn and to have the same confidence he himself gets from Boxing.
