Now hiring bilingual full-time staff (days/evenings/overnight) for the Chimo Helpline. Chimo Helpline is a toll-free telephone and chat service which provides confidential, bilingual crisis intervention service to all residents of New Brunswick 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our caring and compassionate intervention workers provide support through active listening, problem solving, community resources and suicide intervention. Duties and Responsibilities: Assessing each c...all or chat in the case of high risk suicide and providing intervention and safety planning when necessary; Providing emotional support, information and referrals when necessary; Completing shift documentation; Maintaining anonymity and confidentiality of calls and location of Chimo Helpline; Keeping up to date with office resource and training materials; Maintain a positive office environment; Work closely with the Office Coordinator to provide support for ongoing Chimo initiatives. Qualifications: Past experience in human services roles a strong asset; Flexibility, adaptability and takes initiative; Bilingual in French and English required; Outstanding communication skills; Caring, empathetic and compassionate attitude; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite ASIST course is an asset; Candidate must be willing to get a criminal background and social development check.
