WE'RE OPEN!! HEY CHIRAH FAM We're super excited to announce that as of Monday, February 15th, Chirah Fitness will be opening it's studio doors again for in-person, one-on-one training sessions! ... The original structure of our studio caters specifically to one-on-one coaching sessions, creating minimal foot traffic. Therefore, with the reopening we haven't had to restructure, and we've been able to seamlessly implement the provincial COVID-19 safety guidelines; sanitizing, appropriate social distancing, wearing masks and contact tracing. In-person sessions are all 30 MINUTES In addition to our in-person sessions, we will be PERMANENTLY offering online individual, group and team coaching sessions. We also provide customized at-home workouts for you to carry out from the comfort of your home! WELLNESS WEDNESDAY Problem - Solving You might ask, "Coach Andrew, why are we talking about problem-solving?"... Well, you have a problem right? You do, because we all do. And if you have a problem, it's also highly probable that it's a problem because you're yet to find a solution. Hey, that's okay. This is where the fun begins. Yes, I realize steps are largely dependent on the type of problem you have. Like most things in life, there are many variables, and no guarantee that there will even be a solution in some cases.. However, there are also some key guiding principles that I have learned through my life that help to make the problem solving process SMOOTHER. The first step is to CLEARLY identify and define your problem. Once you feel you have clarity, metaphorically dump ALL possible information you have regarding that problem onto the table. Your table will likely be messy, disorganized, and overwhelming. Look at your table, organize and sift through the given information. In some instances, look to find the possible root, or the deeper reason for the problem. This organization process allows you to isolate potential solutions and stack them according to priority. Finally, when you have fully gone through the information, you can then begin to pick the ones that apply to the problem at hand. If you have got to this, point then the solution should, ideally be staring you in the face. Remember, it might not be how you want it, but it will likely be what you need. WELLNESS WEDNESDAY The Holidays. No matter how you spend your holidays, or with who, it's pretty likely that they're going to look a little different this year. Especially if you're in a province like Manitoba, where restrictions are such that you're unable to see anyone beyond your household. You can't celebrate traditionally, host events, or even gather in small groups. ... For some, the holiday's can be a particularly stressful, depressing or even triggering time. So in light of COVID-19, and the added stressors, it's important to be especially aware of your mental health around this time. If you find yourself struggling, try to take a step back, acknowledge your feelings, and take the time you need to express them however is best for you. Your feelings and experiences are valid and are just as, if not more important than anything else going on. It's also important to reach out to your supports, or create new supports and connections. Despite what's going on, take time for yourself. Most importantly, don't let the holidays become something you dread. If they're important to you, and something you once enjoyed, allow yourself to take back that control. Take steps to prevent the possible stress and depression, and take time to learn your potential triggers.
