Yesterday our children had the opportunity to take a knee against racism (while socially distancing). For the children in our care, it is important to see actions like this to know that the community loves them and they are safe to be themselves, no matter what their skin colour. Thank you Halifax for remaining peaceful while making it known that racism is unacceptable.

Dear Ambassadors and Friends of Chisholm, We hope this finds you well - We are thinking of you! We are writing you today because we are looking for your help:... At Chisholm things are very different currently but, thankfully, everyone at Chisholm is healthy and doing well. Our amazing team of staff are working hard everyday to keep the children safe, busy and happy in this challenging time. The weather is getting warmer and the new regulations have allowed our staff at Chisholm to bike and play outside with the children. The new rules of social distancing do not allow our staff to take the children out in groups, so they must accompany them individually. The challenge, that we have, is that due to restrictions of small groups, our staff are often in small groups of only 1:1. This presents a problem in that there are not enough adult bicycles for the staff. We would like to change that and have the staff have 3 more bikes that they can share and use to accompany the children in small groups or in pairs. So, we are hoping for your help with a donation: We are looking for the donation of 3 adult bikes (S, M and L) and its fine if they are used (in good condition) for our staff to take the children out on bike rides. Alternatively, we could buy one if you would rather contribute towards the retail cost of $200 by making a donation online at http://www.chisholm4children.ca/donate/ Also, we are always looking for donations of new scooters and skateboards for our children. And cash donations to buy these and other items are always appreciated at http://www.chisholm4children.ca/donate/ Please help us get the word out! share this post and comment below. Just sent us a private message so we can get in touch to make all the contactless arrangements. Thank you for your time consideration! We really appreciate your help. Until we see each other again, please take care of yourself, your families, and your friends. We will continue to do the same for everyone at Chisholm. As always, we and the children thank you and appreciate your help and support! Guiding children to a brighter future is not only our passion, its our privilege

Dear Ambassadors and Friends of Chisholm, I personally never thought writing a letter in the middle of a world crisis would ever happen, and yet, here we are. Because you and I know that the world, and our community, is better together, I felt it important to reach out to you. How are you? Are you doing okay? Were thinking of you! As a supporter, you are probably wondering what Chisholm Services for Children is doing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. That is exactly w...hy I am reaching out to you today. As an essential service, we are still caring for the children at Chisholm. With the exception of our residential program, our in-person interactions have been suspended, but we are still working by email, telephone, and the internet to remain connected and update our team and community. We continue to update our website and our Facebook page with new information and resources. Our team members continue to receive and respond to official updates from the Department of Community Services, Health Canada, Premier Stephen McNeil and Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief medical officer of health. Through these updates, we are staying on top of the information coming to us and following their direction and guidance in caring for our children. Once we receive the information, our team evaluates what it means for the children, staff, volunteers, our wonderful community of friends and supporters to create and/or adjust plans as quickly possible for the safety and security of the children at Chisholm. We will be here when this is all over. Like you, we do not know what the full impact is going to be on the community, but we do know this Chisholms services will be needed more than ever before. Rest assured, your gifts and donations continue to work during this time of uncertainty. If you are looking for a way you can help Chisholm Services for Children right now and have the ability to do so, please make an online donation to our Foundation today at www.chisholm4children.ca Until we see each other again, please take care of yourself, your families, and your friends. As always, we and the children thank you and appreciate your support! Always Grateful, Geoff Hurst Director, Business Development Chisholm Services for Children www.chisholm4children.ca Guiding children to a brighter future is not only our passion, its our privilege

Thank you Halifax Central Library for dropping off bins of books, video games and art supplies for our kids! Your generosity at this time is truly appreciated. Our kids are troopers and are taking hygiene very seriously. We are very proud of each of them for adapting to the social changes of the last week.
