We are so excited to present to you "Celandine: An Exercise in Social Dreaming." This new choral work has been created for Nocturne Halifax with music by Ryan Henwood and text by Claire Bennet. Performed by Polaris, "Celandine" explores the transition from a busy life led by superficial desires to a sudden absence of these structures in a time of isolation and questioning, and finally to a call to reconnect with nature, guided by a sense of community and transience. More information can be found here: http://www.choirsforchange.ca/celandine.html
Sanitizer, masks, and singers, oh my! Rehearsals continue for Polaris as the singers prepare for Nocturne Halifax. Our performance will be virtual this year, but we are just as excited as ever to show you what we have put together! Note: those sitting within 6 feet of each other are in each other's "bubbles" outside of rehearsal.
Mark your calendars! This year, Nocturne Halifax is going virtual. Polaris is back in (distanced and masked) rehearsals to prepare for "Celandine: An Exercise in Social Dreaming," a new choral work created just for Nocturne. Find out more here:
We are especially looking for lower voices, so if that applies to you then please consider joining us this fall!
