#lettersforlife........................ Hey everyone I have an idea.... So for a few years now I have been thinking about SENIORS and how many of these souls e...ventually end up in HOMES. I do not mean to spread gloom and doom ...however...as much as I am sure they are cared for its still ....NOT HOME! I THINK about my home and everything I love is here ...I come and go as I please....I have who I want over. Now with all thats going on with Covid the seniors world becomes even smaller ...they become less connected...their experiences are few now. So I have decided after much thought of a way to make connection. I am calling on anyone that has 30 mins. to spare to help me make connections with a senior or 2 or 3. What I was thinking is this....we are gonna write some letters and if you draw or enjoy poetry or have some favorite quotes or do anything at all that could be put into an envelope then get ready. How I am hoping this could work is this way.... 1. Gather a group of caring soul 2. Decide how many letters you would be willing to write. ( a paragraph or 2 is all thats needed). 3. Add art pictures games puzzles poetry quotes or add anythimg meaningful. 4. Every 3 weeks I will gather the letters and deliver to designated Seniors Home. 5. I will pick up any letters from the Seniors Home if in fact a resident decides to write back. Now in my mind we all need to have a sense of purpose. I wonder if these souls in homes are fulfilled and have purpose? Each person can write their letter in any fashion they desire. In my letter I hope to generate a discussion ...evoke a memory...a reminder....get the person thinking again....informative...thought provoking. So for me sharing that I am an artist in my letter may get the reader interested as they may have a passion for art....you get the idea.
