Ride for Refuge 2020 comes to an end tomorrow! We enjoyed hearing all about how you raised money for the Ride this year. Team Heart and Sole from Peel Region ch...allenged their participants to get active during September. In doing so, they created some healthy competition between team members and ended up surpassing their team goal. Way to go! Tomorrow is the last day to have all your fundraising finished up for the RIDE rideforrefuge.org/charity/christianhorizons. The overall prize winners will be announced Friday afternoon.

In Peterborough, team Sole Mates went for a socially distanced walk on Saturday, October 3rd as their Ride for Refuge Freestyle activity. It was a beautiful day... to raise money for Christian Horizons! This week is the last week to fundraise for the Ride for Refuge 2020. They enjoyed each others co...mpany and raising funds for Christian Horizons through the Ride for Refuge 2020. In Oshawa, many Ride for Refuge participants have already enjoyed outdoor walks as their Ride for Refuge Freestyle activity. Sarah, Jessica and Grant each went ...on walks with their families to raise money for the Ride 2020. Roy, on the treadmill, chose a fitness goal to fundraise towards. Way to go everyone! Over the weekend we had a big jump in Ride for Refuge fundraising for Christian Horizons. We now have 29 teams participating and have raised $49, 104. That is a...mazing! We didn’t get a chance to meet at the RIDE locations to walk or bike together this year but we are excited to see how teams are engaging in Freestyle activities, whenever and however they can, until October 30th. Troy and Greg formed team Gizli Takim -Arkadaslarimiz Için in the South District this year. They hadn’t thought much about the Ride for Refuge until they were approached to start a team in September and couldn’t say no to the opportunity to participate again. Troy and Greg just happen to be 6-year veterans of the Ride for Refuge. Troy recounts, our quickly put together team of two did our ride a couple of Saturday’s ago. We started with a beautiful morning ride out in the country, followed by a great lunch together. We appreciate your efforts and thank you Troy and Greg for your leadership in #Ride20.

Christian Horizons is excited to announce our fourth Ride for Refuge Raffle for a $150 Grocery Gift Card! All Christian Horizons RIDE participants who have fund...raised $250 by Friday, October 2nd will be entered to win. The winner will be announced Friday afternoon, so stay tuned! This week you can pick up your RIDE T-Shirt! Any youth who has raised $75, or an adult who has raised $150, will receive a RIDE t-shirt. There are two pick-up time slot options at each location this week: Thursday, October 1 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm or Saturday, October 3 from 8:00 am-11:00 am.
